Me--49 year old Disney planner
DC1--My 42 year old cousin
DC2--DC1’s 7 year old daughter and reason for the trip

This was our first Disney trip and I wanted to share since I have learned so much from the Dis boards and have enjoyed all the trip reports so very, very much. We drove in from the Atlanta area and used the FTP to save some bucks. We took DC2 out of school for the week (second grade) and are hoping that this was a good decision. Her teacher was great about it and sent a homework package along. We did homework just about every day!! On to the trip report---
Arrived at WDW mid-afternoon and checked into Ft Wilderness cabin. Picked up golf cart and settled in some. Then to grocery store. Ate a bite at the cabin and then took boat to MK to see Spectromagic. The boat ride to the MK was one of our favorite things about Ft Wilderness. Now we are Disney Newbies and we could hardly contain our excitement at finally being at the CASTLE. We made our way to Frontierland and settled in for the parade. We still could not believe we were finally HERE!! Spectro was the first of our Disney “magic.” What a wonderful introduction to our first trip to Disney!! Saw the fireworks from the boat as we were leaving the dock. We were just in awe at the wonder of Spectro and MK. Biggest laugh of the day--the very tired Disney planner could not figure out that golf carts had headlights. I was trying to drive using a flashlight until some kind soul gave me a clue. DC1 and DC2 were hysterical and we had a good laugh to end the night. Straight to bed for our big day--EE at the MK.

WDW sounds like a good reason to get out of a week of school!

Sounds like an amazing trip is coming up!

Fantastic first day! I'm sure that first glimpse of the Castle was extra special!

Looking forward to reading more. :)

Thanx for sharing ~ Can't wait to read more.
