Dawa Bar Help - Bloody Mary Question

Hey everyone,

I am going to WDW in early December 2016 and we wanted to do the bloody marys at the dawa bar. I just learned they have 4 specialty versions there.

My issue is I have seen reports saying that they are available from 9am to 11am but the bar says it opens at 11am on every site I see.

Can anyone clarify?

We are centering a good part of a day of planning around going to AK and are leaving time to do the bloody marys in the morning, but if they are not open that would really change things for us.

The Disney World website shows Dawa Bar opening at 10:00.

I had one today, probably around 10:15 AM. The bar did look closed on our way back to the safari, probably around 9:45.

BTW, it was awesome.

My experience sounds counter to the website, but I know I've had one before 10am. I've also ordered them from Dawa inside Tusker House with an 8:30 reservation. And if you get one, the African is my absolute favorite. Hands down best bloody mary on property (with The Wave being a close second)

1) Dawa Bar Bloody Mary's are available at breakfast,
2) If eating at Tusker, you can order them before or during the meal.
3) This change was made two years ago, when they found out the profit in early-morning drinks.

Seems like Dawa opens whenever the bartender gets around to it. Says 10:00 so I was ready at like 9:55 for it to open. It was like 10:10 by the time he opened and they didn't have their garnishes ready. The guy looked half hungover himself and made it wrong. (Left out the horseradish) It was no where NEAR the one I had had the previous trip. I'm really hoping they bring their A game next trip. I love them!

i hope they dont ruin my order when there. I will keep my eye on the bartender haha.

I swore this must have been something new because 3 years ago we went during our honeymoon to tusker house for breakfast and didnt see this option. This Novemeber is our anniversary and i also thought i read they opened at 9am but it must have been during peak season as everyone is reporting 10am and the site now says that. thanks everyone

The Dawa Bar was open at 10:00 in October when we were there. The Bar used to open at 9:00 a.m., but it changed sometime between 2015 (fall) and 2016 (spring). Really annoying because we liked to hit Dawa after several trips on Everest but while killing time before our FP+ on the Safari. Love these Bloody Mary's and the various garnishes. I miss the one that had shrimp in it, but the rest are wonderful too.

I like the Dawa Bloody Mary, the Discovery Island Bloody Mary and the African Bloody Mary.
The Asian Bloody Mary is my least favorite (the garnishes are a bit much), but I wouldn't turn one or three down.

1) You have to inquire about the Bloody Mary when seated inside Tusker - it is not listed on any kind of menu, etc
2) The outside bar opens at 10:00am on slow days and 9:00am during busy or peak periods.
3) They have three different tastes, so for those who like a Bloody Mary, there is something to appeal to them.
