David's Bridal question? Shipping the dress?

I had chosen the dress I want from David's Bridal about a month ago....(after recently reading Maggimus' TR, I realize that it's the same one!) Anyway, my date is in November and I was wondering how long anyone had waited for their dress to come in from there....I know they tell you up to 12 weeks or something, but one day when I was looking around I overheard a bride-to-be who was only 2 months from her date and the saleslady told her that they are one of the few stores where you can buy dresses off the rack.
I am going up to NJ for my nephew's Communion at the end of April and am planning on going with my mother to a DB up there to try on a few dresses (even though I know the one I want - but she didn't see me try any on) - and my mom wants to buy my dress, shoes, veil, etc. The other question is, if I buy the dress at a DB in NJ, will they send it to a DB in FL for alterations? Anyone have any experience with this??

im not too sure if they will send it but i bought my dress while i was home visiting my parents and i bought it right off the rack they did take a day to clean it but that was it. good luck with getting the perfect dress

Thanks....I hope it won't be too much of a pain....I guess I could take it back down here w/ me, but I wonder if I can take it to my local David's Bridal for alterations.....

I bought my dress at David's Bridal on Long Island, NY but before I was ready for alterations I moved to TX. I brought my dress to TX & they did the alterations here in Waco at david's Bridal. You can choose to have the dress shipped to your local store even if you buy it in another state. You always can take the dress to a local tailor for alterations too.
