thinking of going here in august but as i understand there is no shuttle to th ep arks how do you get there? on the internet when we got a quote it said includes taxi but is that for one? also if we decided to drive how easy is is and how much to park etc

Yes you are right there are no shuttle buses so the only way is if you have your own transport.
Im not sure about taxis being included Ive never heard this before.

There are some good pictures and info in the Hotel review sticky that you might want to look at but its about 5 mins drive from the parks and you get free parking in the main parking lot at DLP if you are staying here

You have to use a car to get to the parks. Takes about 5 mins, very easy to get to the parks, parking is free as you get a pass to use.

Never heard of a taxi being provided, sorry :confused3

if hiring a car how easy is it to drive from cdg to davy rockett and roughly how much to hire?

Im sorry I cant answer that one as we always take our own car and drive from home. Have you considered doing this? It takes about 3 hours from the channel tunnel in Calais and is an easy route.

It probably takes about 30/40 mins from CDG airport but Im not sure about the car hire.

We looked at hiring and for 5 days it was roughly £130 for a small car (corsa size) with a 500 euro deposit.

It is a pretty easy route from CDG (but then all driving is easy in France, I think), and takes about 40mins.

Hi mummyof3 . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Driving from CDG to DCR is not too bad once you get out of the airport.
It is a while since we have hired since trips are with our own car.
Have a look at The Very Useful Info sticky and travelling by plane. There are links to hire companies that are at the airport :)

hi everyone thanks for replying davy crockett does look good but we are just worried about hiring a car what other hotels have a family room ie sleeps 5 as we seem to have to get 2 joining rooms, also how much would a taxi be from davy vrockett to th eparks

Friends at Newport Bay Club took a taxi to DCR so that their boys could go on the treetop adventure. I remember them saying that the journey there was €20, but the return jorney was dearer :confused3

The advantage of DCR as well as accomodating a family of up to 6 IMHO is being able to travel back and forwards between the ranch and park. Taxis would not be very useful in that situation :)

one option would be Explorers hotel which isnt a disney hotel but is still very nice and very well themed. They have rooms that sleep 6 and there is a shuttle bus from there -its very close (actually closer than Davy Crocketts)

The Disneyland hotel and Newport Bay have family rooms to sleep 5

Or, there is the Adagio. You can get an apartment that sleeps 6 with 2 seperate bedrooms and there is a free shuttle bus that runs to the parks. We stayed in January and it is a nice hotel.
