Dave you may want to add a note about 5130 on your noise list

It was very strange and took me almost the entire cruise to figure it out. Each night as we turned the lights out I would notice very loud music (this would be around midnight and continued until around 2am) It was not like music from the disco or deck party. (in fact I went out on the veranda to see if it was coming from there and it was not) It was more like Disney show tunes. Finally after we saw treasure planet I realized that it must be coming from the movie theature. Perhaps from a late nite show? I was quite disturbing and had I not been so eguasted it would have kept me up (in fact did wake me up out of a sound sleep one night) so some people who are espcecially light sleepers may want to avoid that cabin. The veranda on the other hand was ideal as it abutted a navigators on one side makeing it more private and was closer to the water than we usually have been.

Wow, that is so bizarre!! "Our" cabin (the one we were in last time and are booked into next time, thank you DU!!) is the Navigator's Veranda one that is next to the one you were in -- #5132. I loved that stateroom sooooo much, not just because of incredibly convenient the location is, but because of how blissfully quiet it always was. So quiet, in fact, that the soft creaking of the ship was my lullaby every night... I've never slept so well in my life as that week, because I'm a pretty light sleeper and noise while I'm trying to sleep is one of life's biggest aggravations to me.

I wonder why there would be such a difference just one cabin over?? Hmm, maybe they've turned the sound up in the theatre since I was there... I hope not!!

It really is bizarre because before we turned off the light/tv it was so quiet, what you hear is the musical sound track of the movie. Depending on the show would be how loud it is I guess.

Wow! You were a good ways down the hall from the theatre. I've never heard anyone comment before about noise coming from the theatre. They must have really had it cranked up for those late shows. I hope you didn't miss <b><i>too</i></b> much sleep.

After the first night or two- once I had figured out what the heck it was ( I first thought they were practicing for the stage shows late at night well it was sound track/disney type of music) I could sleep fine, I think the wondering was the worst part.

I used to believe that it was just about impossible for noise to travel upwards, but I learned differently on our three-peat. We were in 5520, and on the middle trip the singing duo was moved from the Promenade Lounge to Barrel of Laughs. When they did their Latin Rythmns show, you could definitely hear it quite well in our stateroom, even though it is two decks up! It was mainly the bass, which must have been pumped to the max. Fortunately, on the next cruise they were moved back to Promenade.
