Dave Ramsey Snow Ball

Hi,
Just starting out with DR's plan. I am excited! Dh works, and I am a homemaker. After all of our bills are paid (mortgage, utilities, food/personal items, gas, credit cards, cellphones) we have $1380 left over (a month). I have decided to get a job, as a nanny, the pay is pretty good (full-time $400 - $525 a week, part-time $250 - $300 a week).

I am just curious, what is/was your snowball amount when you started? Did you or your spouse get a job or obtain a second job?

I don't remember the size and no, we did not get second jobs. However, we did become much more aware of how we were spending our money and that was enough for us to seriously start snowballing. We weren't carrying CC debt, but we weren't saving either. We had 2 newer BMWs in the driveway. We paid off both, then traded one in on a new Hybrid Camry (cheaper to own) and then bought and paid off DVC contracts. Right now our only debt is the mortgage. We are currently hoarding cash and doing it much faster than I ever thought possible.

we are not doing DR but we are doing the money map envelope system from focus on the family money matters. and this is our first month....

LET ME TELL YOU I AM ABOUT TO TACKLE DH!!!! what a pain, he is a spendy spender!!! GRRRRR and we started this with the goal to be going to disney saving 550 a month not counting what we are putting into SAVINGS and he is KILLING ME!!!! and my budget

I am a stay at home mommy so i am not getting a 2nd job, cause by the time i paid a sitter there would go my paycheck. So i have a hard time yelling at DH about how to spend HIS hard earned paycheck (and he NEVER says that mind you, but that is how i feel cause i don't help bring it in)
