Is definitely hot. I'm watching him on VH1 storytellers. I like that he's more like my age too so it's ok to like him.

Their band started where I live. He and other members of the band do a lot in the community. They were a really big hit locally when I was in HS, it's great that they have made it so big. My niece is really good friends with a niece of one of the band members and the band has been to her school and talked with the students, which I think is really nice.

To hear that they give back to the community makes me love them even more. At first I only liked two songs on the new cd. It's grown on me too.

i completely dissagree with you. I think he is gross and unattractive.

aw. But i'm not going to change my mind. Do you other ladies think he's not so hot??

I just watched the movie "Because of Winn Dixie" a few days ago with my DS and I knew the pet shop characters singing voice sounded familiar. After checking the credits I learned it was Dave Matthews. As you probably guessed I've never seen him before the movie just heard his voice. I thought he was an average looking man, but I did like his singing voice.

On Storytellers he is definitely hot, especially with his facial scruff he has going on. But after hearing hearing his stories he really comes off as a drunk, which really disappointed me.

I heard that he was gay. Does anyone know if this its true?

I watched storytellers last night. I've always liked Dave Matthews. I saw him in concert two years ago. It was a great show. Tiggeroo, did you see the part where he talked about the poverty and violence in Louisiana? That's where they shot the movie "Winn Dixie". Obviously it was recorded before Katrina. I don't agree with his politics and how he seems to like to take stabs at America as a whole. But, that's the beauty of our country. We can agree to disagree and nobody is punished for it...

I have this strange attraction to him, actually. I think I like the combination of his preppy, college boy looks and his bad boy reputation. If it wasn't for the constant drug use, he'd be a real catch! I find him hard to look away from when he's singing so I do understand your feelings. I did see a bit of Storytellers last night and I've seen him live in concert which was great.

I really don't think he's gay - I don't get that vibe from him.

First, I've always thought he was cute, not in a hot kind of way, but just a kind of handsome way. I've seen him in concert 5 times now, he and his band put on an amazing show.

He's been married to his wife Ashely for maybe 4 or 5 years now, and they have twin daughters that are maybe 3 now. The gay rumor about him has been going around for years but I don't think it's true.

Ok. I had heard he was married, then heard he was a gay. :)

I don't think he'd be attractive if he couldn't sing so well. It's his voice that's sexy to me. I love his music...it's great mood music.
DH and I saw him in concert 6 years ago. We were at the height of our obsession with him, but the show nearly put us to sleep! Long, long guitar riffs and minimal movement on stage. DH and I longed for the days of David Lee Roth flying through the Civic Center on a tarzan-like rope or Def Leppard's pyrotechnics. Oh yes, I know I'm showing my age!

I have always loved Dave Matthews - and we met him in Central Park this summer. He was pushing his twins in a double stroller. He walked up and sat down at the park bench next to ours and started digging around in his backpack for a snack for the kids. When he caught us looking at him, he looked up and smiled. My sister sputtered out something about how we loved his music. He was really revery nice. He thanked us and we talked to him for about 10 minutes about where we were from, etc. He even asked to see a picture of Paul when I told him I had a two year old. It was a really neat encounter with a genuinely nice guy.

We also bumped into Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins on that same trip. . . but that's a story for another day. :sunny:

I do like their music, very unique. Their current, Stand Up is a good one.

ETA, neat picture of Paul, GEM, too cute, sure is getting to be a big boy there. :goodvibes

I didn't pay close attention to all of the stories. I was watching it and paying attention when something caught my ear. I think storytellers is an appropriate place for politics, but not concerts.
There are times when artists politics interfere with my ability to enjoy them. Springsteen who I loved diid this recently. And it doesn't just have to be a stand I disagree with. I just don't want my music and politics mixed together.

 I Think Dave is the Hottest man (after my husband of course). I watched storytellers last night and thought it was great!! I tivo'd it! We have gone to see him 5 times so far and is one of the few shows that I seek out. I think they are fantasitic live!! I liked last nights versions of DREAMGIRL and Louisanna Bayou better than the studio versions!!

I agree. I feel that way about several men. DM is one. Also James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Eric Clapton and Paul Simon. None of these guys is what I'd really call attractive yet I find them so. The fact that they are storytellers who frequently write their own music is part of the attraction. I feel like the words they write tell part of their personality.

I think he has to grow on you!! I feel in love with his music first, then with him! heh!
I have a big black and white poster of him hanging above my bed playing the guitar! Its great to wake up to! :)
Im really sad I missed StoryTellers! Maybe I will catch a rerun!
