Just wanted to share our recent experience at DL. My daughter's 2 years old and her first visit to the Magic Kingdom. She's been really into the Disney princesses lately and actually just received as a gift the Fisher Price Disney castle with princesses play set the day before we headed to the park.

So we were just walking up to the security check lines when she saw the banners with Arial on it and just started clapping. Great start already.

Since it was going to be her first visit, and we were already planning to upgrade our 4-day tix to AP, we decided not to go on any rides and just let her walk around and possibly meet some characters. She wanted to see the castle, so we went straight to Fantasy Land. We came by the Princess Faire, and there was a short line to meet 3 Princesses, cool! She was so excited, and was clapping and in such awe. The first was Snow White. DD was a little timid at first, so didn't interact much with Snow White. Next was Jasmine, whom she wasn't too familiar with yet. But last was Aurora, and that's one of her favorite. This time she actually gave Aurora a hug and was all smiles, so the trip was already worth it for us.

Next up was Toon Town. There was a really short line for Mickey's house, and we were able to go straight thru to meet the Mouse himself. I was little worried that she would be scared cause she didn't like the mouse from Chuck E Cheese, but nope, she walked right over and gave him the biggest hug ever. She got so many "awes" from the crowd, and didn't even want to let go. I was so happy for her.

On our way out of the park we even ran into Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Donald. She was a little overwhelmed, but had a great time. We were only there for a total of 2 hours, but it was magic the entire time. She's already planning the next trip with meeting Pluto as her top priority.

How wonderful! I'm so glad you had such a nice visit, and that your dd got to meet her favorites. princess: I remember my dd's first Pixie Hollow visit, they chatted her up, fought over her, and even played with her hair so that it would look more "fairy like". :)

It's so nice to read the positive posts. It seems like they are few and far between.

Seeing it through their eyes is just so magical. pixiedust: Glad y'all had a wonderful first visit.

Sounds like the making of a Disney kid to me. :thumbsup2 I only say that because half way through our trip in October (DD's 3rd trip to DL) she informed me she is a Disney kid. I thought it was too cute.
Glad to hear your LO enjoyed her first visit and got to meet all of her favorites.

Yea we took our DD the first time when she was two as well. Great memories from that trip. DD wasnt into princesses until soon after that trip though. Now shes all about the princesses. She got to do BBB in May at 3 1/2 and it was a great experience. Thats the next step when your DD turns 3. She will LOVE BBB and getting to have a FGMIT.

As for rides. Our DD LOVED Winnie the Pooh and carousel the first time. We couldnt walk through FL without her wanting to stop and ride the "hee haw". She also rode POC quite a few times and loved it after the first time where she was scared at first. I showed her ALL of the rides she was big enough for on youtube so she had an idea of what to exepect. Its so fun with young kids like that because they are in awe of everything.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with all of the acronyms yet. Can you explain what "BBB" and "FGMIT" are?

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique (a place to get all princessed up!) and Fairy Godmother in Training (the girls that do the kiddos hair and makeup there.)

Boy this post brings back memories of Alex's first and second trips to Disneyland. He was 14 months and 21 months.

It is amazing to see it through their eyes for the first time, isn't it.

That was just day 1 of 4, I can't wait to see the rest!

We are going to DL with my BF's brother, SIL and nearly 2 year old nephew in 3 weeks. Are there rides two year old would enjoy? I am so clueless when it comes to kids!

Yes! I would probably stick with outside rides in FL first like Dumbo, Casey Jr and Storybook. It's a small world is great for LO's too. Also take him to Toontown and let him roam around. If he seems okay with the rides, you could try some of the inside, darker rides.

Every kid is different but we actually took DD (2 at the time) on POC first thing into DL and it went well. We had shown her all the rides she was tall enough for on DL website and you tube so she had an idea what it was. She held me tight the whole ride but loved it and asked to go on it the rest of the trip. She also did ok with HM but liked that one better at 3 1/2.

But her fav rides were Winnie the Pooh and FL carousel. She loved PP, AIW, Dumbo and all the other FL rides except SW. She also loved JC and tarzans tree house as well as Tom Saywers island (what 2 year old doesn't love running around for hours?).

In toon town Donald's boat and Goofys house were big hits and we spent quite a bit of time there. She liked buzz but really she just sat there and looked at stuff. At that time there wasn't much she could ride in DCA so we didn't spend a lot of time there except for Disney playhouse (must see if they watch those shows) and Aladdin. Oh and Tiki room was a HUGE hit at 2.
