Ok I know plenty of people do not agree with this and will say it's wrong but my daughter turns 3 four weeks before our Disney vacation. I am guessing it is easy enough to say she is 2, correct? Update - With all the great advice we will be buying her a ticket, I appreciate everyone's helpful advice.

I don't think you're going to get a lot of support for lying about your daughter's age in order to get her in for free.

Umm, no. Your daughter is 3, not 2. How easy it is depends on your morals I guess.

Moreover, the CMs ask the kid, not you. What kid isn't proud of his or her new age? The child is going to scream "3" when asked.

We were there a 3 months ago and we were never asked, that's why it didn't seem like we would have any issues

The only way she is 2, is if she turns 3 AFTER you check in to the resort. And since you already stated, she turns 3 BEFORE you arrive, she requires a ticket.

I took my kids at 2, so I wouldn't have to pay. My mother took them when they were three. Every entry, my sons were asked.

My children have never been asked their age, even when my twin DD's were 2 (& entering for free), they were never asked their age. I think they only ask when the child's age you are saying looks questionable.

You've chosen to take your child at age to Disney. Why come here and ask people to support your lying about her age? Honesty is the best policy. At 3 she is smart enough to be learning from you. Shy not be a great example to her?

One of my DD's is 3 and when asked how old she is she either doesn't respond or utters something in whatever version of English she speaks. We understand her maybe half the time strangers almost never. Yep speech therapy coming in my future soon. So not every child excitedly shouts THREE.

Is there anyway you can move the date for your trip up those 4 weeks? That way, you don't have to lie because, as another poster pointed out, Disney only cares the age of the child when you arrive. Plus, you could celebrate her birthday there which would be fun. I'm guessing you can't just bump your trip or you would have done that, but I thought I might suggest it just in case.

Perhaps as a relatively new member of the Dis you are unaware of the posting guideline that bars posts asking about deliberately breaking Disney policies. What you want to do is theft of services. You're comfortable with that are you?

Well, they don't demand a birth certificate at the gate, if that's what you're asking.

I get wanting to save money, but saying your daughter is 2 when she is 3 is lying. Aside from being, well, wrong, it sets a terrible example for your kids.

Just so you know, you can have your child evaluated fora speech delay now, if you so desire. Our daughter started speech therapy right before she turned two and was serviced by Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) through MHMR. At three, they graduate to the public school system where they head up to the elementary school for an hour a week (or however long is determined necessary vie the IEP) and receive services that way. You don't have to wait if you don't wish to and, as is the case with most things, early detection and treatment is often best. Good luck.:goodvibes

My DD was 3 at Disney last year.

She rode LOTS of rides, so it felt completely appropriate to pay full kiddo price for her.

She was asked several times how old she was. I would have felt like a huge jerk lying and saying she was 2. I like saving money just as much as the next person, but I would not be okay lying in front of my kids.

Think about all the times it could come up: Why doesn't she have a MagicBand or ticket? Why isn't she ordering food? How old are you? When is your birthday?

My guess is that the OP has already made up his/her mind to pass the 3 year old off as 2. Trying to convince him/her to spend the money for a ticket is probably going to fall on deaf ears.

It sounds like the OP was just wanting to get some validation from other DISers that it's really not a big deal, that everyone does it, that Disney's got plenty money and doesn't need yours, etc.

My daughter turns 3 two and a half weeks before we go on our trip. Was it tempting to just say she is 2, of course it was, but we are paying for her because I just wouldn't feel right lying about her age. But that's just me.

Yup.

One of those 'rules don't apply if I don't get caught' types. Excellent role model.

Sorry to jump on here and ask a question, but my DS is tall for his age. He is currently 2 whenever some asks his age he says 6(it's his favorite number I guess). No way does he look 6. Sometimes he will say 2, but not all the time. He i just tall. Thinking he will be 40" when we go. Do you think I am gonna have a problem and have CM think I am lying? I am such a rule follower that I don't want a problem and people to think I am a lier just to save some money.
