My daughter is turning 5 during our disney vacation. It's our first family vacation and our first time on disney property. We lived in Florida before and has gone to the parks plenty of times. We are trying to make this an over the top vacation/birthday for her. We arrive in 10 days any suggestions to make her birthday as magical as possible?

Stop by City Hall to get her a birthday badge. CMs will wish her "Happy Birthday, Princess!" all day.

we celebrated our daughters 9th birthday at Disney. If you let them know ahead they will have a birthday button ready for her at the front desk of your resort. They also gave her some little slide things to decorate her magic band. We ordered a personalized princess cake through their bakery and had it delivered to her at our meal at Akerhaus - she was so surprised! They also gave her a birthday card signed by all the princesses when they brought the cake. She wore her birthday pin the whole week and finally said she was tired of everybody calling her by name and wishing her a happy birthday. By wearing the pin you'll pick up a few other perks along the way. Disney does birthdays right. To be fair we are celebrating our other daughter's birthday in June but will probably do another meal so she will be surprised.

Following this thread, as my DD will be celebrating her 6th birthday at WDW this Sept !

Ok... Silly question. (Maybe). Small children get the cast member bday treatment..ie pin, balloon, autographed pic etc... How about for a 40 year old? Anyone celebrate their 40th at DW and what hints can you give me for a good place to do a bday dinner ?

You shouldn't expect to get balloons or autographs for anybody.

Any of that stuff that is done is entirely up to the CM you are dealing with at the time.

You can certainly get a birthday badge with your name on it - remember it's possible you may get nothing out of it besides well wishes and some singing in restaurants.

To guarantee that you'll get a cake, you can order one or purchase a "podium cake" at restaurants. There are other special order items, like the chocolate slipper you can get from the Grand Floridian bakery if you're dining at the GF or at CRT.

Not 40, but I did both my 16th and 18th and was treated just as royally as the little 6 year old princesses each time. Plus, being addressed as Princess really never gets old! Disney is great about trying not to put an age limit on letting people enjoy the magic.

Following this thread as well! My oldest is celebrating her 6th birthday during our trip, even if all she gets is a badge and some well wishes, she's going to be thrilled :woohoo:

When I went on my birthday the mousekeeping did extra stuff with their towel animals for me, make sure to let them know when your booking about her birthday and when you book in, considering how many people played it up when an adult wore a birthday pin, I'm rather sure they'll really make her birthday something memorable when a kid is wearing one.

I was curious about this too. We have 4 birthdays in the family (and it's my un-birthday!) on the day we'll be in Magic Kingdom. But I asked about this in the tips thread. Hoping to get more advice than the online CM who just told me to order a cake. :)

A CM noted our anniversary on all our ADR's and on our resort reservations ... Will see what they do? Probably a cupcake I'm thinking and hey a free cupcake is a good thing

We will be celebrating out DD turning 5 as well at WDW this October. On her bday we will start the day at BBB for her to get her royal makeover, then we will head over to CRT for breakfast where we added the "Her Royal Highness" package to our breakfast where they will have a princess balloon on the table waiting for us and then will present her with a tiara on a purple pillow, crown her princess for the day and then after dinner she will be presented with her aurora cake :). We are also having dinner at akershus that night so we have a perfectly princess filled day planned!!! I'm very excited!!

And just to add I recently celebrated my 34 bday as well as my 5th wedding anniversary without children and they had special stuff for us at multiple dinners and a special card and candy in our resort room for each celebration ;)
I so love Disney birthdays!!!

We are celebrating our daughters 4th birthday while we are at WDW. We have an ADR for Akershus for lunch on her birthday...how do I get a cake for her to be delivered to our table? I can pre-order it somewhere?

I'm following this one too! (I posted one before but I think it got lost) :-)

We did our daughters b-day at disney last year and will be doing again this year, but the added kicker is that the BFF will be joining her and they will celebrate their birthdays together (they are only 2 weeks apart) at the beginning of December.

We are planning BBB and CRT as well as the princess tea with aurora. I'm contemplating doing a "care package" of birthday surprises that will be delivered to our hotel room. but I want to do it myself since the $400 birthday package is a bit ridiculous..lol

One fun thing last year that happened (when she turned 5) was we were waiting to be let in for the energy show at Epcot (the one with Ellen) and the CM saw her button and said someone wanted to talk to her. She pressed a few buttons on the phone and DD received a birthday greeting from Goofy. It was super cute! Apparently it works from any phone on Disney's property. I would just ask a cast member if they could do that for you.

Also since it will be Xmas time we are doing the Xmas Party and carriage rides at Ft wilderness.

We're also going for my b-day (yes I'm a bit obsessed) and I LOVE my birthday button! Doing the halloween party that weekend.

When I asked about our upcoming quadruple-birthday (my triplets' and wife's are on the day we are visiting this summer), I got this reply:

If you plan to have a special dinner at a Disney dining location on the
day of your birthday celebration, you may also order a cake at the same
time you arrange your priority seating. Our dining department will be
happy to assist you with the best choice of restaurants.

Call 407 WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) up to 180 days in advance for seating
arrangements at most dining facilities.

Walt Disney World® also offers a themed birthday party at the Neverland
Club at Disney's Polynesian Resort. For further information, please

Or Celebrate your birthday party Disney-style at Goofy's Party Central

Glaciers beverages, cookies and sweet treats are on the menu at Goofy's
Party Central plus games and special gifts! For further information,
please call 407-WDW-BDAY (Birthday Reservations).

I haven't been to WDW in over 25 years and we are planning our trip for September of this year, but this is what we are planning to do.

We are celebrating my sons 4th birthday while we are there, and we will definitely be getting him a birthday button. Additionally we are buying a Disney cake to have at one of our character meals. It's not cheap, but not horribly priced either - we are just getting a fairly basic one.

I am also planning on bringing little Disney gifts (from home where I got them cheap) to surprise him with while we are there. I'm hoping that reduces the amount of souveniers he might want! Lucky for us he's never been a kid (yet) to ask for stuff, but I imagine Disney will be overwhelming.

I think it's going to be a great time.

Just got to my ADR date today for my daughter's and her BFF's birthday trip in december. Here's what we were able to do for our itinerary. We already have her b-day pin from last year so I'm sure she'll wear that on the way to the parks :)

Only res I don't have yet is the princess tea which won't open dates for another week or two Wanted BOG, but no luck today.. hope that gives you some ideas too :)
