How old were you when you first started dating?
Did your parents know you went out on a date?

My friends and I were talking about this the other day...

One of the girls in my class told us that she has been going out with her boyfriend for 2 years and her parents still don't know. Her parents think that her boyfriend is really her "best friend" and nothing else...

& this brings me to the next question; how are your parents about dating? are they iffy about it?

I started dating when I was 14. My parents have known about everybody that's come into my life between then and now.

When I got my friend boyfriend I was 14. The one was in middle school but we didn't go out and do anything. Then the next one was a few months later in high school. He was 16 at the time so we went out places. My parents knew. They have known about every boyfriend I have had. I can't keep my mouth shut one when I have on. My parents are fine with it if they like the guy. If they don't it's hard to convince them to let me go out with them.

I haven't started dating. I've been asked out a bunch, it's just that my parent's don't want me dating, until High School (next year). I guess they are over protective and stuff, but I don't mind all that much. I'm 13, 14 in January, if anyone was wondering (:

I've never dated/kissed/whatever. I'm 16. My parent could care less, I'm sure, they'd probably die of happiness if I went on a date. I think for some time they thought I was gay (which they would be totally OK with). No reason really, I think it was just 'cause I hadn't dated, I'm very for gay rights, and I always comment on girls on TV, but thats more of an observation-thing.

I have never kissed/ dated/ whatever either. I am also 16. First, I don't believe i HAVE to have a girlfriend. most people do it just to look cool. also, I am very shy. Ive been very close a couple of times to have a girl friend but idk what happened. currently Im intrested in a girl that was one of my best friends when I was younger. we just started seeing each other in september after not seeing or talking to each other for 4 years. and my sister, mom, and dad would die of happiness if i got a girlfriend. so pretty soon, i guess, I'll begin dating (:

I don't know if I would ever be able to tell my parents that I'm going on an actual date...

They would probably say no, no, no, no, and ask questions after questions and want to meet the guy- when nothing serious is going on! I think they still see me as their little girl and don't really know what I'm getting myself into...for me, it would be preettyyy difficult I guess? :confused3

Pretty much the same thing, except for the thing about the girl. I don't really know anybody that I would want to go out with here. I'm not gay or anything, I'm just not interested in dating right now. I'm only 16, and people always say that they've been dating since they were 13. They make it seem like I'm stupid or something for not dating. My only question for them is "What has dating done for you?" I've never gotten any answers from anyone. I'm not following their timeline, I'm following mine.

My first "official" date was when I was 14.

It was with a guy, Heath, that was 17. We went out bowling, to eat, movies, hanging out at houses, alot before we even started dating. Like 4/5 months. Then we only dated for two weeks. We did kiss when we were just "talking".

I think we both liked the kinda hookup thing better than the actual dating each other. It was sorta weird when we started dating. lol

When we were dating is when I got Garrett's number and started texting him. Heath and Garrett went to the same school, my old school. I hadn't seen or heard from Garrett since 5th grade. So we had both grown up alot.

Garrett had a girlfriend at the time. And I was dating Heath. Months and months later when I finally built up enough courage to tell Garrett, (he was like my best friend at the moment) that I liked him, we started "talking", in late Sept.

My parents didn't really like Heath that much cause he was kinda a jerk. And just didn't treat me right. I had a kinda boyfriend btw him and Garrett but we only dated for like 2 weeks. My parents didn't like him either. They said his family was really trashy growing up. Which he kinda was too.

Now my parents L O V E Garrett.

I could never not tell my parents about a boyfriend. Especially my mom. I just find it kinda disrespectful to keep something big like that from your parents. At least, thats how I feel about it..

I started dating when I was 15, and my parents were aware of it.
They were also aware of when I almost dated some guy, but for whatever reason we never went out.
They've never had issues, other than I wasn't allowed to have them in my room.

I have however, never had my first kiss. My boyfriend was kind of using me at the time to try to make a girl jealous, and I'm kind of glad I never kissed him. I am extremely turned off by him now, and he drives me absolutely up the wall with his idiocy.

Several months ago, this guy started talking to my friend alot, acting like he liked her and everything. He surprised her one day and kissed her in the hallway at school. And she was like ecstatic because it was her first kiss and she really liked him.

Well it turned out, he and his friends had a bet to see how many girls they could kiss in one week. It was horrible. I hate guys like that. :/

::yes::::yes:: Amen to that!

It's made me realize what kind of person I would want to be with, or more of someone I wouldn't want to be with.

After dating a couple of guys. I definitely know the kind of guy I would want to be with for the rest of my life. Someone exactly like my boyfriend. Hopefully my boyfriend. If we don't make it, then I hope to find someone like him.

i think he meant that towards those people that consider those who have not been in a realationship 'not cool'.

ohhh gotcha.

i was trying to be snarky or anything though. I was just answering the question. lol

ETA. I meant I wasn't.

lol

That's awful!
My guy was after this girl who used to be my friend for like a year. He couldn't get it through his thick skull that she was in no way attracted to his skinny body. So he went out with some chick in junior year, for a month, broke up with her for me, and talked about asking me out for like a week with my friend.
And I mean whether he admits it or not, he broke up with me for her... and well that didn't work out for him either.

I dunno, I really can't stand him anymore. He's really stupid, doesn't listen, thinks stupid things are funny and had annoying habits.
I've come to realize I want a guy who is just as smart as me or smarter. I like intelligent conversations.

I love intelligent guys. Garrett's the first guy that actually cares about his education. He's a straight A student. He like never studies or anything, but he just knows so much.

It makes me mad though, because I have to study study study so much to make a passing grade. And it like comes natural to him. lol.

He's the only guy I have ever actually talked too. If that makes sense.

i'm 15, and i've never kissed/dated anyone. no one that goes to my school is really worth dating, honestly. a lot of them smoke/party/drink/cheat/etc. all the decent guys are taken or would never be interested in me. my parents have recently said that it's okay if i were to date anyone, and i think they die of shock and bombard me with questions if someone did ask me out.
