Dates Straddle Historic Discounts

So our dates this year straddle what discounts have been historically available in August. We are going August 10-19. Most of the discounts have ended around the middle of our trip and the a second set of discounts would have covered the last half of the trip. In the past, the discount you used at the start of a trip would have applied to the entire trip. It is my understanding that this is no longer the case. Does this mean that if a discount becomes available for the first half of our trip, we would then have to wait several more months to see if a discount would apply to the second half?

Typically as long as you check in by the last day of the offer, it will apply to your entire stay. (So say it ends Aug. 18 and you check in Aug 16, it SHOULD be valid for the time you are there.)

Not necessarily. The free dining offers have covered the entire stay as long as you check in on a day when the offer is valid. Thus you could check in on the very last day of the offer and get FD for your entire trip.

Room discounts however, only apply to the nights specified in the promotion. Since the OP said historically one promo ends in the middle of his vacation, the rest of the nights would not be included. If another promotion comes out and covers the rest of his nights, usually it is a different promo code and would have to be booked separately.

That happened to me a couple of years ago. I had one room only discount for the first two nights of my stay and a different discount for the remaining 5 nights. I had to have two reservations, each requiring a deposit, because they don't seem to be able to apply two different promo codes to a single reservation. I had to check in again and get a new room key, but I was able to keep the same room.

Keep in mind, if it follows historical patterns, the free dining discount would begin mid stay for the OP and it has historically required a ticket purchase... Which opens the question: can you pick up package tickets a few days prior to checking or not?!
