DH and I are thinking about going to WDW towards the end of Oct. for a weekend. We plan to buy our AP's at that time. I have seen here and on other sites that the fall resident discounts are available 10/2-12/26, excluding Thanksgiving weekend. But on the Disney site for FL residents, the discount starts 11/2. Does anyone know for sure? I know I could just call them...but I am too lazy. And a second question, can we get an AP rate (if there is one) when we won't be purchasing our passes until we get there?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I called for the weekend of 10/24-26. There were FL resident rates available, but very limited. BWI, AKL, Y&BC, CS were the only ones I could get a quote on. There were also no standard rooms available at any of the Epcot resorts, just upgraded veiws. This was last Sunday so anything can change. I was hesitent to call because of the dates on the WDW site, but there was some availability. We opted for the Swan instead for $144 nurse rate.

Thank you for the information! Hopefully, we will be there at the same time. If not, we will just make a day trip. I don't want to get too carried away...

To get the AP rate you usually need to show your AP at check in. If you are a AAA member you can buy your vouchers ahead of time at a small discount (we'll be getting them thru AAA)...if not you might want to buy your vouchers at the Disney Store (or the cards, not sure what they give you) prior so that you'll have something to show.

Keep in mind that the FL resident rates are almost always cheaper than the APs, so it may cost the same for an upgraded view with the FL resident rate as opposed to a standard rate at the AP rate (did you get that??:duck:

In any case you might want to check out the S/D separately. I highly recommend them::MinnieMo

I just went to Florida Residents site and it has been changed org. under Fall Resort Savings after blockout dates it said (Other rates available 10/02-11/01/03 tax not included. The number of rooms available at these rates is limited.) I would call and check for available dates when you need them. May just get some Dixie Dust.
