I am looking for suggestions. My husband and I will get a date night on our tip this fall when my aunt and uncle will take the kids for a few hours. We will be at Epcot or the Polynesian. Should we try for Le Cellier? Is it worth it, a bucket-list kind of place? A cheaper option of Chefs de France? A more-drink-less-food option with Trader Sam's Grog Grotto? Thanks for your input!!

For a date night, there are lots of choices, IMHO a lot better than Le Cellier. Consider California Grill, Jiko's, Yachtsmans, Narcoosee's -- all memorable.

We are doing a date night dinner at Jiko's this year. Le Cellier is a good place to try but as the pp mentioned there are better options. I don't think the Poly has anything great for you to try. If you are looking for a steak Yachtsman was really good for us a few years back. Also the view from California Grill is great. Any place you choice I am sure you will enjoy.

Artist Point is nice and quiet as well. Trader Sam's is fun if you aren't looking for peace and quiet.

Thanks for the input! Any more info on why Le Cellier might not be "all that?" I thought it was one of the best....?

We enjoy Les Chefs de France more than Le Cellier, but that's us.
I'm basing that on four main factors, overall experience, food, service, and price (specifically, does it feel like the price was justified for the experience).

"One of the best" I'm guessing you mean because it's a signature restaurant, or perhaps because it had this exclusivity to it, as in - it was hard to get reservations there for ever, or perhaps the food/reputation was very good. It probably is considered one of the best, and if you enjoy the experience then it's worth it.

If you and your husband both expressed a desire to eat there, then try it out for yourselves, you may love it, and it might be the perfect place for you guys.
Just keep in mind there are so many different places, and you will get a lot of different recommendations from everyone.

You could do wine tastings at various countries, you could eat a little at Tutto Gusto which is a small and romantic stop with wine and nibbles, you can even order off Tutto Italia's menu if you want a full meal. You could do dessert sampling, there are great desserts to be had, especially in France or at Norway.
You can have a nice date night at practically every place, even Quick Service!

Are you coming during F&W? .... If so you could stroll around the world trying different countries offerings, and end the night with Illuminations. You can stop where you want and check out what each country has to offer and see.

Head for DS (DTD), lots of options here, Raglan Road, The Boathouse, Portobello, walk around and listen to some music, poke your heads in the shops, If you want you could do the dine-in movies or dinner and bowling.

I would go with Chefs over Le Cellier - while both are good.... price point, food quality & service are for us are better at Chefs.

Another thought you might want to check out Spice Road tables, DH and I love this spot really great food, and service... You could share some small plates, and grab dessert in France at the bakery...

If at the Poly - you could head over to another monorail resort for dinner, Cali Grill at the CR, Narcoossee's at GF ask for a table at the window, Grand Floridian Café at GF - we had dinner here with some friends not to long ago, they were vacationing and it was spur of the moment we were able to meet them. It had been a while since we had eaten here, and it was good as I remembered.

Or..

You could.... head into MK and ride all the coaster, face off at Buzz Lightyear for bragging rights... and grab counter service or the Plaza.
