My wife and I will be going to WDW for her Birthday this year. I would love to have a nice romantic date night with her..DO something out of the ordinary. Does anyone have ideas?????

While it depends on what she likes to do, my wife and I always look forward to a relaxing dinner at Narcoossee's, finishing in time to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the boat dock.

We like to take the monorail/boats and walk around the different resorts/ stop in some of the bars for a drink... then end up at the Poly and watch Wishes from the beach.

The dessert party during the fireworks at MK might be fun. Or the boat ride that is offered during the fireworks. I don't know the particulars on that one though..

Some of my favorite, quieter (and romantic) places are:

Boardwalk-this is unbelievably one of my favorites in Disney. You can take a leisurely boat ride to this area, eat a nice dinner on the water (or near) and take a stroll along the water. Try taking a ride on the enclosed "bikes", they are so much fun. It also has a few shops to browse around. This is also a very flexible option: you could spend an hour here/or a day here.

Grand Floridian-very pretty and has PLENTY of romantic dining options. She'll feel like a princess here while you watch the fireworks.

Hope I helped!!

We've always enjoyed Citrico's for a romantic dinner. Afterwards, you can take a walk on the beach there and watch Wishes from a variety of spots around the monorail loop.

What about a progressive dinner either in EPCOT, at the EPCOT resorts, or the Magic Kingdom resorts?

Like you could have drinks at the Wilderness Lodge, appetizers at the Contemporary, dinner at the Grand Floridian, and coffee/dessert at the Polynesian (only b/c of the Kona Coffee). Just take time as you go to walk around / take the monorail / take a ferry...

I love the progressive diner idea :-)

-It would be expensive, but you could rent the Grand1 for dinner and fireworks.
- You could have Gifts of a Lifetime set up a treasure hunt with romantic gifts along the way.
-Have dinner at one of her favorite restaurants in or near Epcot and then do an Illuminations cruise.
-Dinner at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts and a private carriage ride to see the fireworks at Fort Wilderness.
-A romantic walk from the Grand Floridian over to the Poly Beach with a small blanket and a bottle of champagne to see wishes from the beach.

I have to agree that Narcoossee's is an excellent choice. My partner and I celebrated our anniversary there and it was lovely. The meal, the view, and the atmosphere. They had are table decorated with a "special menu" that said happy Anniversary. We were so pleased... I can't say enough about it.

My DH's annual birthday night must is a late dinner at Tokyo Dining. We make ADRs for 8:30ish and then show up early and tell them we're willing to wait for a table at the window. The restaurant is dim and romantic and the window tables offer a great view of IllumiNations. We take our time eating, letting the crowds leave the park, then take a leisurely stroll back to the front of the park, stopping to look at all the little details we never get to see during the day either because we're too rushed or there are too many people. By the time we make our way to the bus stop, the lines are gone and we have an almost empty bus.

These ideas all sound so wonderful. A few years ago, I was planning to celebrate a big birthday with my husband at the Brown Derby, but he was sick the entire day, so that didn't work out.

There are so many fabulous places to dine, but if that isn't your thing, even strolling through Epcot and enjoying a drink and appetizer here and there would be quite lovely.

If you happen to be celebrating on a Wednesday, the Wine Tasting at 3pm at Jiko would be a wonderful way to start an evening. $25/person, and worth it. It takes about an hour.

I like the PP's suggestion of dinner at Jiko. I think that it is the most romantic restaurant on property (possible exception of Victoria & Albert's, but I have no firsthand knowledge of it... yet). Between the end of the wine tasting and a reasonable dinner time at Jiko, you may need to fill a good bit of time. You could schedule a massage at the AKL health club to fill some of the space there. They don't do a couples massage, but you can get simultaneous massages in different treatment rooms, if that's up your alley.

Then, drinks at the bar, and on to Jiko for dinner. After dinner, maybe head down to see the animals through night-vision goggles, if you want.

Wine tastings are only on Wednesday, and is a bit unique right now in terms of WDW experiences. The rest of it you can do any day, but might be better at GF with massages at the GF Spa and dinner at Citricos, or in the Boardwalk area with massages at the Mandara Spa in the Dolphin and dinner at Flying Fish (Chef's Table for a bonus!).
