I am having the hardest time picking the date. I feel like we are waiting til the last min and it may be too late to do everything in one year. We are from PA, NY, and VA and travel is a huge issue with the wedding...We orginially wanted
Feb 7, 2009 - its value season and I want everyone to be able to afford to come if they can
- weather is nice, not to hot, not alot of rain
- cheaper honeymoon
- im scared its too late to give everyone enough notice to book rooms and things

Other dates we were thinking were during the regular season:
April 4, 18, or 25th
- bad: easter falls on the 12th and I am not sure how well people would travel with easter in the middle of the month since alot will be going on.
- we are catholic and am not sure if we can get married during lent. (I know we wont be able to have a priest, but would like to use one that was mentioned on here before, I believe he was married)
-nice weather
- gives people more notice and us more time to plan.
- we want a 5 pm ceremony and it wouldnt be dark by the time our ceremony is over, feb would be cutting is close.

Any opinions and help would be much appreciated.

Just want to make sure you aren't giving us the wrong year when you say 2009. If you are giving the correct year, I think a year and a couple months is more than enough time for your guests to book rooms and I think it is definitely enough time for you to plan. We got engaged in the middle of July of 2007 and are getting married in October 2008. That only gave us a little over a year to plan. I'm not stressing yet :-)

Feb 2009 is 14 months away -- that is plenty of time and I am not even sure Disney is booking rooms yet.

2 months doesn't really make that much difference

In terms of planning a trip to Disney it doesn't really take that much time -- unless you are trying to account for saving the money to go.

yes 2009 is the correct date, as you can see, im a huge stresser which is why we are going with Disney in the first place. Thanks for the help!

I'm getting married in Feb 2009 (the 13th) because it's value season... trust me, we have lots of time! :)

i got engaged at the end of july and announced to my family at the end of august that i was getting married in january. i gave them 5 months notice and surprisingly many of them are coming. i too stress out a lot, and for this reason i chose to have a VERY short engagement, to minimize the amount of time i would have wedding stress :santa:

ok that makes me feel better about the time! Thanks, do you think that if we have the ceremony at 5pm there would be enough light to get some shots outside afterwards. The sunset is projected to be at 6:15. I don't want to see DF before the ceremony.

a lot of people do daytime shots before the wedding this time of year, the only downside to that is you see your df before the ceremony!

We Got Engaged Sept 2007 Getting Married Feb 3 2008, Alot Of Our People Are Coming Fr Ma, Nj, Tx We Had Plenty Of Time, Im Not Even Close To Being Stressed, Plus Most All Airlines Fly Into Orlando, So Rates Aren't That Bad, Feb.
