I'm asking these couple for a friend that recently was given DAS for her 14yr old son. She is not a member on The DIS and she doesn't want to be (she does very little social media). She's always asking me questions, like I'm the all knowing Disney person, and as much as I pride myself with knowing a decent amount, I definitely don't know everything. She asked me the following.......

*Can her son ride the same ride multiple times with DAS?
(I googled it, and the AI answer said yes, but I don't trust it, so I'm asking you all)

*Can DAS be used during the EMH? They are staying at The Poly.

I really appreciate any help you can give - I will have her read any replies.
Thank you in advance.

we just came back at the beginning of February from 8 days

we had the DAS pass for our 11 year old son

first questions, Yes you can ride the same ride multiple times, we did this for Pirates and Haunted Mansion both of them several times a day. as soon as your swipe out magic band into the ride you have to wait 10 mins. before you can get select another time.

second question. Yes you can use it on EMH, we were at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and use it during our stay

Just as an aside - your friend does realise that it wouldn’t be an immediate re-ride? So if they ride then they choose the same ride again they then have to wait for the standby line time less 10mins all over again, from memory?

Yes, that’s correct. Unlike LLMP, DAS can be used for the same attraction multiple times. They will just need to wait the standby-minus-10 each time (as well as the length of the LL). DAS can be used in conjunction with LLMP or LLSP to align rides in closer timing to each other.

Question…..What does the -10 mean?

Are you talking about the early morning EMH? If so, DAS only works when there is a posted wait time, which doesn’t happen until the end of EMH, so it will not work when there is no wait time. However, the queues usually move much quicker during this time, especially if you don’t do the bigger rides.

So if the general public is in a standby line for 80mins, your friend will be in a DAS wait for 70mins. Ie after walking around / resting / going on other non-DAS rides / generally waiting 70mins elsewhere they will then come back to the ride and enter the Fastpass line.

The DAS return time is generally equal to the posted standby wait minus 10 minutes.

Thank you for your explanations - I’m learning a lot about this. My friend will be grateful for your help 🙂

Slo, you didn't ask this, but wanted to throw in the DAS holder has to be the first one to tap into ride. First time DH used it, a couple of times I walked in first and didn't realize the problem.

Also the DAS holder has to do the ride. So we couldn't pick a FOP for a time, but then just me go on..

They do have wait times posted for EMH and you can use the DAS during this time. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the app to get the DAS up and working but if it is more then 5 minutes I just ask the cm at the ride for a rerun time

Are you talking about the morning extra hours? That’s what I’m talking about. They don’t normally have wait times right away posted, not until shortly before actual park opening.

Yes and they have them posted right away

Maybe it has changed then, which would be nice. In the past wait times were not online during extra morning hours.
It take a minute or two but it dose show up I have been stocking them like crazy lately for my next trip
