Past trips I exchanged last trip's GAC for an updated one. Should I bring last years GAC or will I need to explain everything again? Is the new DAS linked to to your magic band? It would be great if they could pull up your info with a swipe or your name. I also used the GAC to access the handicapped area of shows and Theatre attractions. Will I still be able to do this? I don't have a mobility issue but a hidden disability. Thanks.

Bring the old GAC but you will likely need to give a brief explanation your needs. The DAS is not linked to the magic band. You will need to go to the ride and have a return time written on the card. There's a great sticky at the top of this thread that has tons of info on the DAS card.

I'm not sure about all hidden disabilities, but one thing I do know is that there is now no official provision for seating for visual disabilities at shows like there was with the old GAC stamp. You have to just tell the CM on duty that you need to sit close to the stage and hope they feel like letting you sit there.

I hope you are joking, my ds will have a meltdown every time we do this. Go to the ride but not ride, come back later - I don't think so. Before we showed the GAC and went down the FP route to wait for the ride. I suppose if you get there at line drop you should be able to go on there and then.

If the ride has a short wait (can't remember how many minutes) they should let you in FP line right away. Also, if there is more than 2 in your party you can send a person to get the return time without the child being present.

No. Not joking. Please read the sticky at the top of this forum on the DAS. If the standby line is short (I believe 10 or 15 minutes or less), they will immediately send you to the FP line. Otherwise, they will write down a return time and you go back to the ride anytime after that time. The child doesn't have to be at the ride to obtain the return time so you can send another person in your party up to the ride. I know that's a problem if you are traveling alone with your son, but that is the current practice.

The return time written on the DAS will be the length of the stand by line minus 10 minutes. Then when you return, you will go through the FP+ line which will likely be that 10 minutes or more.
