I’ll be making the call for our 3 year old for a DAS pass today. She doesn’t come home until 11:30 am and take a nap around 2:30 pm, so I’ll be probably calling around 11 am (has taken 2-3 hours on hold per posts I’ve read). This is our first time requesting a pass for her.

She has sensory issues. I am not sure if she will sit still for a picture (and wear a shirt) at home. I’ve had her run off during her zoom evals. Anyone else have trouble during the call. Was the CM patient with taking the picture? Does she have to look up at the camera? I can try using a screen as a distraction. Any ideas?

I have also heard of very quick calls what is your plan if it goes faster than you plan and she is asleep when needed for picture. you only need her for the quick picture not the whole call

It’s Friday today and that week/weekend we are going (Halloween) is crowded so I don’t expect a 30 min call. I’ll start it around 11:15 am in that case. I won’t let her nap if I’m still waiting.

Disconnect and restart if it’s any sooner.

Quick picture with a kid with sensory issues can be challenging. We’ve had to leave her out of some of our cruise photos which we paid $350 for. Sometimes she is calm- stood for the Cinderella slipper picture.

When I was looking for a photo to upload for the cruise checkin I realized how hard it was to find a picture of her looking straight up at the camera. I did find one in a group from 6 months ago and had to zoom in and crop it.

It took me 10-15 mins to get the chat to pop up. Now it’s asking if I’m ready to proceed to a DAS register cast member? If I click yes is that immediate or is that when the 2 hour wait starts?

It’s still 10-15 mins till our DD arrives

Sometimes there is a short wait

I clicked ‘yes’ and now it’s giving an error message and Says to go back to previous page to continue your conversation

The register page has a circle that has been spinning for 3 mins!

I don’t even think I’m in a queue. I went back and forth and a survey window popped up. The join chat button is not visible for a live chat and it’s still spinning!

Same thing on my iPhone

Do I close out the chat window? It has the message ‘Go back to the previous page or log in to continue your conversation’

It’s finally working on my phone and shows I was placed in queue 15 mins ago! Phew; battery is draining pretty fast btw

I was asked to fill out a DAS Planning form (enter date, morning, afternoon, evening, top 3 picks - Max 4 days per form so I had to submit 2 forms) and only 7 days of pre selections are allowed. The 8th day has to be after check in to the resort.

Caution: the form is a mess and ADRs conflict and now we are working day by day to edit selections without any guarantee I can get the orig. back. The CM has us booked all over the place and pushing back by saying there is no availability. For TSMM all evening? Some are in the middle of nap time; some overlapping dining! MNSSHP MK morning only 1 got booked?

The CM closed the chat window out and clicked resolved before I could get any further

The CMs are not working one on one. They are taking 10+ mins to do a simple check and get back. For instance Safari is booked at the same time Upclose with Rhinos is and she can't tell me an alternative time (waiting for past 9 minutes).

So make sure you eat and your child has eaten before dealing with this. Its almost 2.5 hours now.

There are limited time slots for the Advanced Selections, and it's not even necessarily every hour throughout the day. I think they are offering slots at traditionally "slower" periods of the day. You won't necessarily get a lot of choice. Many folks don't even end up using the DAS Advanced Selections because the times simply don't end up working well for them once in the park.

There are reports of pictures taken of children sleeping. I believe you can have the picture re-taken on-site when you first get to a WDW park.
One time, my daughter had just had a seizure and was fast asleep. The CM said it was fine to take the picture and we could get it redone in the park if needed.
We went on a couple attractions and the CM checking the picture looked at us kind of weird. So, I went to Guest Relations and asked for a new picture. The CM said they don't normally re-do them as long as the picture is recognizable as the guest. She said, "Oh, yes. We should re-take this one," as she tried not to laugh. When she showed me the picture, we both had a laugh. My daughter's picture was recognizable , but she looked dead.

When I just did it earlier this week, when that message popped up and I replied, I got a message from the CM that she was finishing with her previous guest and would be with me as soon as she was done. It took about 10 minutes after that

Yes. That is what happens - what I was told is because you are logged in to a secure connection, the system updates about every 30 minutes.

You can only make/hold a maximum of 7 days. You can make the 8th after you have USED your first day of DAS Advanced Selections.
There are only a certain number of 'slots' available for each attraction which is on the list of possibly available attractions. Once those have been filled for the time slot (morning, afternoon or evening), there won't be any in that time slot.

They are 'extras', so if they don't work out or you are not able to use them, they will just expire. You can start making DAS Return Times as soon as your whole group is in the park. You don't need to use the DAS Advance Selections first and can make a DAS Return Time for the same attraction

Regarding the picture, I got our DD to sit on the convertible booster/diaper bag that has a harness so she would not run away. When the CM asked for a picture she had taken her shirt off (had pull-ups on). The CM said she can’t take a picture of a child without a shirt. I tried to bribe her with ice cream (didn’t work), with sprinkles (nope); verbally saying she can watch ‘Winnie the Pooh’ (that wasn’t going to work), so I got an iPad from another room and asked the CM to please wait. It took me a while to finally force her to wear a shirt (despite having the iPad with her program on) and then I turned the phone quickly towards her and the CM asked her to look up at the camera and smile (I was internally screaming come on! at this point). Our DD was screaming and lost it but I moved the iPad behind my phone and she looked up for a couple of seconds. I was out of breath at this point and so embarrassed.

CM was very patient and didn’t blink an eye or seem irritated at the least.
