Just need a quick review of how they work together....

I schedule all my FP 60 days out.

Should I schedule all FPs for the morning park? We park hop everyday.

Can I get a return time with the DAS while having the FPs scheduled, or do I have to use all those before I get a return time?

If there is a thread somewhere that has tips on how to make the most of our time, I'd so appreciate a link for it.

The 7 year old and I can move at a fast pace. My special needs son will be in a transport chair pushed by my husband who has Early Onset Parkinson's Disease. His lack of mobility really limited his pace last time. Honestly, he needs an ECV, but he's not going to agree to that as he is way too stubborn.

Our special needs son's favorite rides are:

All the Fantasy Land attractions
Soarin'
Frozen Ever After
African Safari (the rest of us will want to ride the Avatar ride)
The Lion King Show
All the live shows at DHS...not a Star Wars fan...none of us really are
All the Toy Story attractions at DHS

Thanks, everyone! You're so much help...and I can ask all my questions without driving my family crazy..lol.

DAS is designed to be used with FP+ so it's good you already booked those. You can have both FP+ and a DAS return time active; you just can't have more than one DAS return time. If you use the DAS for a ride with a very long wait, it will tie up the DAS for that period of time. The first post of this thread explains how DAS works: https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...15-digital-das-on-tickets-magicbands.3178976/

Enjoy your vacation!

This thread is about DAS. The first post is kept up to date. The rest is from before and just after DAS began, so you only need to read the first post.

This link to the Disney website explains Fastpass at WDW.

Once you have used all of your first 3 Fastpasses (or the time has passed to use them), you can make more Fastpasses, one at a time. They can be in the same park, or at a different one, if you have park hopper tickets or AP.

The other thing to be aware of is the Tier One Fastpasses for each park. You can only schedule one Tier One Fastpass per park, but you can get a DAS Return Time for a Tier One attraction. They do rearrange the Tier One at times.

Fastpass and DAS are totally separate; you can get a DAS Return Time regardless of whether you have used your Fastpasses or not.

There isn’t a specific thread (one of these days when I have time, I will work on one).
People do things differently, depending on their own situation.
1) some people use their Fastpasses for attractions the person DAS was issued to WON’T be going on since DAS can only be used for things that person will go to.

2) some people use Fastpasses for those attractions that normally have a long wait. DAS provides ability to wait outside of the regular line, but you will still wait approximately the same amount of time as you would have in that line. Since there can only be one active DAS Return Time at a time, using it for long wait attractions ties it up for a long time.

3) some people use Fastpasses for their ‘must do’ attractions to make sure they get those in.

4) watch the posted wait times on My Disney Experience app to find things with short waits between Fastpasses and DAS Return Times. Many people use planning services/websites like Touring Plans to help them plan their day for shortest waits and least busy times.

At least if he won’t use an ECV, the transport chair can help be a support for him. My FIL liked pushing my daughter’s wheelchair for that reason.

All the Fantasy Land attractions - Peter Pan usually has a long wait because the attraction loads only a few guests at a time and is a classic that many want to ride.
Seven Dwarfs Mine train is usually a long wait.

Soarin' - usually has at least 45 minute wait, sometimes longer. The Fastpass line also often backs up.
Frozen Ever After - usually a long wait - when you are scheduling your Fastpasses, get whichever you can and use DAS for the other.

African Safari (the rest of us will want to ride the Avatar ride) - use Fastpass for Avatar and use DAS for the Safari. At times, the Standby line is pretty short, so you may be able to do it Standby.
The Lion King Show - you can get DAS for this. It will be for the next show.

All the live shows at DHS...don’t generally need Fastpass since these hold a lot of guests. You can get DAS for all of these. The Return Time will generally be for the next show and will have a short return time.
not a Star Wars fan...none of us really are
All the Toy Story attractions at DHS - I’d get whatever you can get Fastpass for and use DAS for the others.

I like to do FP and DAS in pairs, planning FPs next to rides where we want to use DAS. For example, say you have a FP for SDMT followed by a FP for Peter Pan. You can get a return time for Winnie the Pooh, ride SDMT, ride Pooh, get a return time for Haunted Mansion, ride PP, then ride HM, all without too much walking or waiting.

Thank you all. Your advice helps so much since :). I get to do my FastPasses at 7 am in the morning!

That’s what I did on our last trip. I had a spreadsheet with what attractions I was doing FP, what was nearby that I wanted to DAS and what was on the way to the next that I didn’t think would need either FP or DAS because waits were usually less than 20 minutes
