DAS changes coming WDW May 20/ DL June 18, 2024

I highly doubt the removal of “only” is going to soften their eligibility requirements. It is likely just a technical change.
Completely agree! When someone forwarded it to me my first thought was they are being challenged on why there are some folks getting it that are not in the "developmental" category. Legal says drop the "only" because clearly there are some that are being accommodated that do not fit that dynamic but DAS is the best option for their particular situation. I think it's coming from legal and nothing will change on process.

Yep! I think it’s unfortunate that articles are going out about his leading people to believe that Disney may be softening their eligibility. It’s just going to cause people to try to reapply and be disappointed again…

I have an older friend who has been denied since the change, and I truly hope Disney can accommodate him. I did send him the article.

Good luck to him. However I don’t think they’ve changed eligibility. I think they’ve more closely aligned the wording so it doesn’t appear to automatically negate non-autism disability. Which it hasn’t even though many interpreted the website to indicate it was limited to autism.

Honestly , this is pure supposition on my part, but certain groups have been pretty outspoken about the fact that they would bring legal challenges to court.

I wouldn't be surprised if this small change was in relation to that. Basically something legal pushed down.

Edit.
I also see other people have basically said the same thing now lol.

Couldn’t find the answer via search-
When I do the video call for DAS, should I be logged into my account or the person I’m calling for? (My “adult” child)
Thanks for any info~

If your adult child has their own MDE account, you should be logged into that. If your adult child has a profile managed through your own MDE account, log in to yours. Be sure all tickets are linked and any plans are shared so the individuals with other accounts show.

This is DisneyLAND if that makes a difference

Thanks for all the info and help in this thread and attempt give Mod~ we were approved today for a DAS at Disneyland…
I think?
The CM said the das info would appear when we entered the park. But she also mentioned other Das alternatives and sensory areas of the park to find respite in.

I wish there was a way to confirm or see that it went though/was indeed approved.
The CM was kind, patient and chatty. I was anxious and kind of forgot to confirm at the end. She did take my kids photo and mentioned the 10 min wait so I think that’s the regular DAS, right?

Yes it sounds like you were approved for regular DAS.

If approved for DAS, how many days is it good for? And does the clock start when approved or at first day at the parks
