My daughter requires a DAS for an alternative waiting area. We are going with a cast member and using her extra tickets to get in for 3 days and staying at the DLH for 4 nights. I understand that the DAS is now attached to the park tickets. Is there a way too avoid going to guest relations every morning to get the DAS (like attaching it to our hotel room). And what is the guest limit to attach to the DAS? Thx for your any suggestions and advice.

Yay we are 20 days away!

THe DAS is good for the lenght of your park tickets.... also as I understand it now... everyone who will be going on rides with the DAS holder will need to be present to have their cards attached to the DAS..

DAS holder and 5 guests... 6 people attached to one card all told..!

Have a great trip...

Currently your hotel room key and your park ticket are separate. For the DAS "card" you will need to go to Guest Relations in either DL or CA the first day. Explain the needs as it relates to waiting in the regular line, not the dx. The DAS is for the length of your stay and up to 6 people. It is attached to the park ticket of the person needing the assistance. You are given your first DAS return time at GR. Like the PP stated, everyone who wants to ride with the DAS holder must present their park ticket as it is now attached to that. This is to prevent people from abusing the system by having multiple DAS return times. The return times are attached to your park tickets (not your hotel room key card). Everyone wishing to ride the attraction with the DAS holder must present their park ticket at the kiosk when you receive a return time.

There are many threads about how to utilize the DAS to your advantage. Aladora has some great tips and strategies as she has done this several times at DLR. I don't know how to link or I would. The only thing I could add is that now the DAS return times are attached to the park tickets, you no longer have a card which they write down the return times. You will need something to write it down on. I think that I would remember, but, not always. Besides, my DD needs a visual that she can look at and then at her watch.

Enjoy your trip! It sounds fun.

Is your CM friend signing you in each day or are you using extra hard tickets? If hard tickets, are they multi day tickets or single day? If single day or if being signed in you might have to go to city hall each day, as it is a new ticket each day. However, you do get a little slip of paper with rules on it and you could hang on to it and show it each day and they should just set it up on your new ticket.

Thank you. This is the info I was looking for. I've used the DAS program a few times since the change in October 2013, but I read that they changed again in November 2014 to link to tickets. We are doing a little of both, hard single day tickets and CM silver pass. We may just go ahead and link it to our family of 4 and maybe 2 of theirs (maybe just not our teenage boys since they can go off on their own) since we will have a total of 8 in our party, unless a GR CM is willing to link 8 tickets. We may just use it on the Saturday of our trip since that is the busiest day...she can handle a 10-15 minute wait in line but after that its like Russian roulette.

Two trips ago, in March, there was no maximum mentioned but we were told that everyone had to be present at either City Hall or the Chamber of Commerce for them to issue the DAS for 5 or more people. (There were 3 of us for the first few days of our trip and then 2 friends joined us for a few days so we had to get our son's DAS reissued and everyone had to be there) GR would not issue the DAS for 5 until our friends joined us a few days later.

I've heard that they will do more then 6 depending on the circumstances. For us this is a big deal cause we are a family with 2 adults and 5 children. I've been told that it is possible for them to link a big family like ours but it isn't automatic. I think 6 is standard but more then 4 you need everyone with you to prove who you have. Obviously we haven't done it yet but if anyone is interested I'll post back when we go next month.

We went March 2013 and they issued one for our party of 11 as long as we brought everyone with us to get it.

This is what has happened with the DW, a DAS holder. On a Nov. trip the CM told my DW that all party members needed to be present for him to update her DAS. This was just before they had completely linked the new system. On our Dec. trip all party members, 5, did not need to be there. They did give her a slip of paper, like the old DAS, but with no picture on it. She was told is was just for informational purposes so she would know her return time. All party members did not need to be at the GS tent but the DAS card holder did need to have all of the party tix.

DW was also told that DAS cards would no longer be issued for physical disabilities. This doesn't really surprise me since when they went DAS they took my GAC card and said I was out of luck.
