DAS at DL

I realize there is an option for online video chat now, and realize that would get an advantage to pre-reserve BUT, I keep seeing things at least on Disablities WDW thread of 2 hour waits on the phone, plus, it's for my granddaughter that's Im taking this summer who doesn't live with me and would need to be there ( and I know parents aren't going to do 2 hr wait). So.. when we went to WDW, we were staying at the Dolphin and just walked over to Epcot International gateway outside the gate on our arrival day, the day before our park day, and we set that up in less than 10 min.
Is there an equivalent option outside the gates at DL or CA? We are stating at the Disneyland Hotel, so wouldn't be an issue to walk over.

No, there isn't. But you can set it up inside the gates at any of the Guest Relations umbrellas, City Hall (DL), or the Chamber (in DCA).

when we did it in december, the lines were always shorter at dca than at disneyland, over by the attraction wait board we only waited a few minutes.

I did the video registration for Disneyland recently on a weekday morning about an hour after they had opened and start to finish was ~45 minutes and that was with with the Cast Member patiently waiting for me to fix my phone because I allowed the camera and microphone access in one setting but not another and it took a few tries to make it work...lol! The same person who set up the DAS also set up the 2 preselected rides per day so I didn't have to wait for a second person which was really nice.

The other week I did my video registration for DLR, I connected at about 3:30pm PST on a Tuesday, and waited for 7 minutes until I was connected to a cast member. I took about 20 minutes to go through the details and select my rides. Painless!!!!

Yes, but if the child that the DAS is for doesn't live with the person, they will need to get to DL to complete it because they need to see the person involved.
