DAS at Disneyland

I'm sure others have answered this, but I can't find recent info. The sticky at the top hasn't been updated since 2014, and 'search' is only bringing up posts from 2001.

We are WDW vets but haven't been to Disneyland since they had paper cards. I assume that they have converted to the electronic DAS. Could someone with recent knowledge please point out any differences at DL that we should be aware of? Where is the best place to get the pass set up? Do you have to visit each ride to obtain the return times? Any issues to look out for when trying to integrate it with Maxpass?

I'm sure we could wait to figure it all out once we get there, but (as I'm sure many of you can relate) life is better when we know what to expect!

The sticky for Disneyland DAS has current information. Disney hasn’t changed anything substantial since late 2014.

Disneyland added DAS electronically to tickets stating in November 2014. All members of your group need to be present so that their tickets can be electronically linked. That part is the same as at WDW.
You csn request DAS at Guest Relations in either park.
- Guest Relations in Disneyland is called City Hall and is located just inside the park on the left hand side. The front entrance has steps, and the ramp is located on the far side of the building.
- Guest Relations in DCA is called Chamber of Commerce and is located just inside the park on the left hand side.

Disneyland has kiosks where DAS Times are obtained, as well as at attractions. Other than where they are assigned, they work the same way at DL as they do at WDW. This is a list of the kiosks (someone who goes to DL may have updates on location.

• - Main Street was by at Central Plaza
  - Fantasyland is in front of The Mad Hatter
  - New Orleans sq near haunted mansion
  - Tomorrowland near little green men store command
• at California Adventure
  - Buena Vista street near the carthay circle red car trolley stop
  - Carsland near Radiator Springs Racers
  - 2 in Paradise Pier, one near Little Mermaid ride and one near CA Screamin

The other difference is that WDW has more lines that are Mainstreamed, so that the regular line is accessible.
Attractions at California Adventure are mostly Mainstream lines, but many at Disneyland are not.

I have not heard/read issues with Maxpass and DAS, other than the same issue that WDW has.
If you have both a Fastpass and a DAS Return for the same attraction that are both ready to use, you want to make sure to use the pass, which has an expiration time before using the DAS Return Time, which has only a beginning time.

- Main difference is that you obtain ride return times from the Information Kiosks instead of the ride. We really liked this a lot more than WDW, a lot less walking. You can also be inside Disneyland and choose a ride over in California Adventure if you have park hoppers.
- I got my pass issued by the Information Kiosk in Tomorrowland. The line at City Hall was ridiculous, I don't think a lot of people know that the kiosks can absolutely issue the initial DAS Pass.
- DAS Pass works beautifully with the Max Pass, I recommend using both.
- Write your name on the back of your tickets, since they need to scan the DAS Pass holder's ticket first when getting a return time. Not as easy as it is with Magic Bands, unfortunately. So you'll be needing to pull out your physical ticket a lot.

It looks like Universal has as similar process for their access pass as well. I still wish we didn't have to go on such insanely crowded days, but I'm feeling much more confident that we will make it all work!

Lauren: Our tickets were linked to the app, but they still scanned our physical tickets. Don't know if things have changed since May.

We were just there in October. We had them scan our tickets because I think it is faster.

Just to add that I think the DL DAS process is much easier than WDW. The kiosks where you can get a return time for any ride in either park is so much easier.

I can confirm that they can indeed use your phone for:

• Issuing Return Times
• Issuing the DAS in the first place (Or Renewing it)
• At attractions accepting return times

I know this to be true because at present, I am unsure where my pass is (it is hiding somewhere in my car, I know it is) and have used this for a while now.

That being said, I find that if it is at an attraction with FP, it much faster to use your tickets, but otherwise it can be faster to use your phone.

Thank you - we're actually arriving at DL today so I figured I'd find out soon enough anyway DS loves cards/tickets/etc and begs to hold on to his every time he sees it, but he's not exactly good at keeping track of it, so using my phone would probably be easier for me than talking through why he needs to give mommy back his ticket now every time lol!

How are you getting into the parks if you don't have your ticket? Isn't the DAS also on your DL ticket?

I'm just guessing but probably because the poster has their AP loaded into the app on their phone?

I show my pass on the app on my phone, they scan it and I go into the parks. I believe this Works at the parking booths too, but usually my wife is in the car, so she just shows hers.

The DAS works the same way, the scan the tickets from my phone, which is much more convenient than getting everyone's ticket to go to the kiosk to get a return time, just scroll over.
