So we were at WDW MK in April and I had an issue with my DAS return and FP for Mine train.

I will try to layout the events

DAS for Mine train starting at 1:30pm
FP for Mine train at 3:15pm-4:15pm window (please note the earliest the FP was good for is 3:15pm)

We entered the FP line for the mine train at 2:30 and scanned in. I did not pay close attention, my mistake.
I was expecting the system to use my DAS which was valid starting at 1:30.
I later found out that "somehow" the system accepted the FP which was not due to start until 3:15. That is approx 45 minutes earlier?

Different day from above but another FP issue:
Seperate issue with Alien saucer spin:
Alien saucer spin FP time 1:30 - 2:30 window
at 11:30 I went and got a DAS return for Slinky dog with a return time of 12:30.

At 1:30 I went to use my FP for Alien saucer and the CM said the system said i had already "redeemed" my FP at 11:37am. I questioned how I could "redeem" my 1:30 FP at 11:37 which was 2 hours prior to my FP window?

It seems clear that there is some sort of glitch with their system or the CM's are somehow deleting FP when requesting a DAS return.

I started to always double check my FP plans after getting a DAS.

Now to be clear everything worked out and the CM's were all great. There was no impact to our trip so I am not complaining.

I just got back from a week at Disney and I would have a DAS for a ride and a FP the same ride 2 3 hours latter and it would take my FP. I told GR and they were able to look up my account and see it was taking my FP instead of my DAS they re issue me my FP. if your still there let GR know there is a problem

That’s quite a glitch.
We were at WDW from April 4 to April 21, 2019. We had no issues with either DAS or Fastpasses.
I usually take screenshots from My Disney Experience shoeing our Fastpasses and DAS Return Times as we get them.

For anyone wondering how it’s supposed to work....
DAS and Fastpass are separate systems; Fastpasses are scheduled using a database of Fastpass attractions and times that are currently available. DAS Return Times are scheduled using the database of current wait times in the Standby (regular) line.
Once scheduled, Fastpasses and DAS Return Times both show up in My Disney Experience.

To use the DAS Return Time, the person DAS was issued to scans their Magicband or ticket first before the other members of their group. The Mickey Head reader will glow blue, alerting the Cast Member to look at their screen to see the reason for the alert. The CM can see that it is a DAS Return Time, along with a picture of the DAS holder. After checking the picture against the person, the CM clears the alert and the Mickey Head will glow green when the other guests in the group scan their Magicbands.
To use a Fastpass, it’s best to have someone else in the group scan first before the DAS holder. That helps to keep the Fastpass reader looking at the Fastpasses instead of the DAS Return Times.

The situation the OP described seems to be multiple problems, not just one.
I just checked and the My Disney Experience app in the Apple App Store just was updated 6 days ago. Disney has a track record of glitches after updates that they usually fix fairly quickly. Hopefully that will happen this time.
