The Braves just announced that they will be building a new stadium near the I75 I285 Junction. Talk about traffic nightmares coming when this is completed. That is consistently the worst traffic on our MI to FL drives and it will only get worse now. There being a Braves game used to be one of the determining factors on if we took 75 through town or 285 around town. That won't be an option on game nights anymore. We'll either have to make sure we don't drive through at game time or go through South Carolina like we did one time.

I agree. The potential traffic is unfathomable.

Trust me....all of us here in ATL are shocked. The keys to Turner Field, which was built specifically for the Braves, are barely cool. It's a gorgeous stadium without a bad seat in the house and now it will sit without it's original purpose.

Building a stadium at the very worst freeway intersection has got to be one of the most insane ideas ever. As if the traffic there wasn't a nightmare already. I head north on 75 to go to my mountain house and if I pass through there any time after 3 pm...I'm in a parking lot. And that's without a Brave's game.

I guess folks were complaining about all the crime where Turner field is located. They basically built a stadium in the backyard of gangland and said "Come on' down! Bring your kids!" Crazy crazy...

I've been hearing this announcement might still be a negotiating tactic to get what they want from Atlanta. Until that thing is actually being built, I wouldn't get too worked up about it in either direction.

I would have agreed with you early this morning. At that point it was only one newspaper reporting the story. After that it was confirmed by the Braves. Usually teams don't say "We ARE leaving" as a negotiating ploy. They'll hint at it, but not say it.

Patriots did they same thing announcing a deal to move to Hartford! Wouldn't ya know, a deal happened for Gillette Stadium! My guess is leverage
