Try Poly. Think of it this way: Your next stay at WL may NOT be perfect or even close to perfect. That may well ruin the way you feel about the resort.

Try different resorts, then go back and see if you still feel so strongly about WL. If so, you've found your home away from home! But, you'll never know for sure if you don't have something to compare it to.

Stay with Poly. Trust your instincts. You booked Poly for a reason, so stick with it. It's not like this will be your last trip. Go and enjoy your trip. If at the end of the stay you decide that you preferred WL, then go back there on a future visit. There's no reason why you shouldn't try new places occasionally- if you always stay at the same place, who knows what you might be missing?

Glad you're going with the Poly. I love WL too, but if you want to try different resorts, you actually have to book them!:lmao: I say this because I want to try different resorts but find myself going back to the same ones over and over.:confused3 I think you'll love discovering what is special about the Poly and each resort. Enjoy!:goodvibes

oh, mousemommy1 ~ the changes are beginning :lmao:
We stayed at WL and loved it, and if you remember we just recently stayed at Poly. We LOVED the Poly. I can say that it was our near-perfect Disney experience. I was so worried that I would feel like the extra money wasn't worth it, but it totally was!! With 2 young girls (right?), you will love being on the monorail and the rooms are so much bigger! With a 40% discount ~ at least give the Poly a try!

Try the Polynesian! I stayed there years ago in the GV room overlooking the monorail and I loved it. I love trying new resorts and I am trying to stay at every WDW resort and I only have 3 remaining (GF, YC & FW). Once DVC opens at GF, I'll be able to scratch that off my list.

:thumbsup2. You know where I voted :thumbsup2 I'm going back to read all this in just a minute, but first I wanted to say.....PLEASE do NOT drive yourself crazy second-guessing for the next 8 months! There's something calming about being settled with your resort choice and getting all excited over the new experience! You know you can always go back....so why not try something new while the circumstances are right?! Just go with it and enjoy it.....don't drive yourself insane! You've got 8 months to get through! now, I'll go read!

ETA: something I thought I would add: you know that AKLCL is my families favorite/ and usually our Disney home! But our last two trips will have been venturing out with something new: BC CL, and now POLY CL. I know BC is not my favourite, now that I've tried it, if poly fails to deliver, I know AKL will always be there to come home to! I am glad I've ventured away to try new things. I know AKL was perfection for us, and it was hard to take that jump from what we knew....but opening up to a new experience is good, especially when our Disney trips have to be spread out due to distance and financing! A Disney trip for our family can easily run 10 K with our airfare from West Coast Canada! As long as I have things I still want to try, I'll be making sure I do ....there's time to go back to the old and familiar after I've decided for myself what I like best! :)

That's what I thought too!!! It was soooo perfect at WL, I'm not sure another visit would "live up" to what we experienced last month. Every experience is different of course!!!

Yup, the Poly always calls out to me for some darn reason. I need to just give in! This may be the only time we can afford to do Poly CL - so I need to grab the bull by the horns on this one and be strong....for 8 long months...:lmao:

I'm sure we will find all sorts of special things about the Poly. DH and I are very excited...convincing our girls it's going to be great is another story...they really LOVE their WL!!! But hey, they're not paying right ???

Do mental changes count??? :rotfl:

Yes, I remember discussing this all with you last go round. My heart says Poly, Poly, Poly!!!! :dance3:

marie I know what you voted!!! I am so excited that your trip is soooo close, you must be beyond excited!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures!!! :goodvibes

I vote for trying something new.

We've so far never stayed at the same resort twice (although will for the first time at WL in the fall). Even after a wonderful stay at a resort, there's always been at least one little thing we didn't love that made us give another resort a shot. Sometimes we like the next resort better, sometimes worse, but we've never regretted trying it. How will you know until you try it for yourself?

Hope you have a great stay at the Poly. :thumbsup2

:yay: :dance3: YEAH I KNOW!!! :thumbsup2 sooo excited too! I can't believe it's coming up so fast :( want to slow time down a little and savor it....before I know it, it'll be here and gone, the way trips are flying by lately!! I'll be sure To let you know every tidbit about the POLY for sure :)

I love both WL and the Poly. I vote for the Poly this time, since it will be something new and their CL is great as well. You can watch Wishes from the CL lounge or your own balcony, if you have a lagoon View room.

We are a family that likes to try different resorts. Yes we have our favorites (BC and WL) and will go back to them from time to time, however, we like to try out the different resorts since they all have different themes to them....I say stick with your Poly reservation :thumbsup2. If you don't like it, you could always go back to the WL on your future trips. Another suggestion is that you could do a split stay between the 2 resorts. It's kind of like getting the best of both worlds and Disney makes it so painlessly easy for you to do so.

I voted for... the POLY. I have stayed club level and it was great! The thing is, that next trip will be different no matter what, and you may wind up feeling that WL isn't the same. Why mess with that near perfect memory? Go and try something new. Of course, if it were me, I'd go with AKL Club - ha ha:rotfl2:

So, here's the deal. I've been stewing over this for the past couple of days. :sad2:

On our trip last month (from 7/15-7/25), we strayed away from our normal value resort, churn and burn at the park stay, and we booked WL. We stayed club level. It was practically perfect. (practically, because nothing is perfect, right??? Ooooh, but this was sooooo close) :cloud9:

Things we learned???
1) to us, yes, deluxe is worth it...and furthermore, we'd take CL over the DDP any day
2) we actually like hanging out at the resort (when it's worth it for us to hang around). I think at the values, we weren't drawn to stick around which is why we burned ourselves out at the parks and came home from vacation, needing a vacation.
3) Disney vacations can be relaxing!!! This was never our experience before (see #2)
4) I can watch Wishes from alternate locations and not feel like I am missing out. :lmao:

We actually left there saying we'll NEVER stay anywhere else. But, 4 days after getting home, we booked our next trip for April 2013 at POLY CL

On our reservation for last month, I bounced around for the better part of a year changing my reservation from WL, to POLY, to BC - all of them being my dream resorts.

DH would like to try POLY CL a shot, and I would too, I'm sure it will be wonderful. My problem is that because we feel we have found "perfection" at WL, and we are wondering if we should change that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra??

We had the goal of staying at least once in all of the resorts, so the POLY CL stay would move us in that direction. :goodvibes

Thoughts??? Stick with what we know?? Or venture out and try something new???

Why not try a split stay and enjoy both on the same trip? :confused3
As you can see by my signature .... I have the same goal of staying at least once in all of the resorts (Mods and Deluxes anyway) ... Split stays have made this a possiblity for this Left coaster (I only have 2 resorts left to go )

I'm voting for the Poly. I've stayed at both WL and Poly and loved them both. I'd stay at either one in a heartbeat. But since you've already experienced the WL, why not give the Poly a try? The biggest drawback to the Poly is the price. And if you fall in love with it, you'll be looking at a future of very expensive vacations.

I love love love poly club level. The chef in club level remembers us when we return. This is my dd7 fave club level resort (and we have stayed in most deluxe club levels.....are going ak club for halloween which is our close second choice). We love convenience of this resort. Really allows us to use club level to full potential. We aren't able to do that with other resorts as well.

We loved the Poly but have heard great things about WL also. After our last trip, we said we stay at POLY again but changed also. Opted for somewhere more Christmasy. I think trying new is good too. The pool and monorail were awesome at the POLY...loved having easy access to everything.
