Hey- for everyone- This has been somewhat asked before as to what transfers you prefer....
I have a question first-

I had 5 Dark Transfers by Avery - I printed my Disigns and at first they looked real vibrant, bright, colorful- As they have set I notice the colors are now looking lighter or muted- Not terrible but not as bright and colorful as they looked right after coming out of the printer- I am getting ready to go iron them on and see what they look like after ironing- If they get bright again or whatever- I know that some of the color is going to "seep" into transfer as it dries I guess I wasn't expecting as much- These Avery Transfers were very "fresh" as I checked the stamped date on the package before I purchased-

I have ordered Amy's Transfers- Amy, I can't wait to get them! Hopefully they will get here this weekend! I know it has only been 2 days- LOL mail hasn't run yet so I may get lucky! LOL I am definitely posting afterwards-

I noticed I didn't post about the light transfers... & it was really only the question about vibrancy of color everyone has noticed with them? Are they bright after ironing or did they look duller than before- Also, do all of them have to be flipped? I am not doing many that would need the light transfers but I would like best outcome for the designs I have- Thx for any tips!

When you print the transfers, the colors will sometimes not look as bright but when you iron them on the heat makes the color POP. Your best bet would be to try to iron one on and see how it turns out.

You may get lucky and receive your transfers soon. I do not want to get your hopes up but I have had several people receive them in 2 days. (Although the post office tells me about 4 days) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

In most cases, light transfers need to be flipped and dark transfers do not. But read your directions very carefully because this is the norm and not a hard and fast rule.

For white tshirts, you can use either light or dark transfers. It really is a personal preference. I use dark for everything because I prefer the matte finish of a dark transfer to the shiny finish of a light transfer. Also I never have to worry about whether or not to flip. I also think that the colors seem more vibrant with the dark transfers. But all of this is personal preference - Light transfers work just as well and are often cheaper.

Thx Amy! I knew you would know somewhat more about this since you found the best Dark Transfers by doing constant research! :thumbsup2
I do have about 4 designs that I would love to do with dark but I am choosing light (I think) because I'd like the shirt color to ocme through in the center open portions of the design- I have chosen shirt color specifically for the "look"- & I did get to iron it before I ran up the street- It came out great! Except... I think I beared down a bit too hard on the backside on 2nd design and right at the upper corner it got a tad smeared... :scared: & that was with the tissue paper over the whole thing!! Ya can barely see it so no big deal- The colors have come back out to a brighter look also! I just need to wash it which I will do when I get back... again- I want to be here and get it straight from wash and into dryer - no one else to mess with it so I see how it comes out! I know most say don't wash it until AFTER first wear but the directions say to AND the shirt is black- it got some "dust" maybe on it while I laid it over everything- It is a whitish chalky something- not sure what I laid it on that did that but it is on the shoulders and side so I will wash it before taking a pic, folding it and packaging it up for his birthday! I am soon heading out for my hair appt now and I still have to find this Nerf gun- It is big & orange and shoots darts is all the description I have... & it's new... but other than the shirt and the game he has asked for it- I try to get two cool gifts they ask for, especially since his b-day is so close to Christmas- It's hard that I don't get that major Christmas gift early- especially this year! They will get one "Big" gift this year with a few "filler" items- They are scrambling to choose their major gift and make a short list of "really wanted" smaller gifts- Everything he has talked about already I thought would be good for his birthday- LOL So I am going to get the Nerf gun and his one game w/ his shirt- & then his party at the Bowling Alley w/ his friends... He'll be thrilled! Okay well, just a few minutes til kids should be home, then I will head out and get back to post a pic- Gotta show Kelly how it turned out! She is such a gem to have come up with the design for me! Thx again for your dark transfer tips- I really can't wait til yours come in and I can let everyone know how they turn out!
