Dark, Scary Rides in US/IoA?

Hi,
We are visiting US/IoA in a couple weeks and one teen family member is particularly worried about indoor, dark rides with sudden drops. Even after reading descriptions, it's hard to tell exactly what rides entail. All outdoor coasters are a GO, no matter how wild! She likes motion simulators like MGM Star Tours and Epcot Soarin'. The problem is dark, sudden drops. Even that little drop in the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean is more than she would like.

We know "The Mummy" is OUT.
Are Escape from Gringrotts and Forbidden Journey a concern?
Is there something else I might be overlooking that we should be concerned about?

Thank you!

Jurrasic Park is in the dark when the climb starts then you drop in the dark too, but You drop into daylight.

Gringotts I do think can be a concern. In the beginning there is a little drop that goes into the dark and almost at the end there is one part in the dark too. The drop is expected before going into the dark and the second part is more roller coster like, not really a drop but is in complete darkness. FJ is more like a simulator with lots of motion, but not really drops, I would compare it to soarin´.

The drop on Gringott's is comparable to DL Pirates (a little longer than ours). But OH MAN if she likes outdoor coasters, hog-tie her and drag her onto Mummy!! It's awesome! Ok, maybe, instead, just try to convince her to try it just once. It's Everest meets Big Thunder meets mummies....

lol cgattis. I've been on Everest and she would HATE THAT! I think it's the definition of what she's avoiding. Unfortunately, for her, everyone else wants to go on the rides she's likely going to skip (sounds like Mummy and Gringotts), so she's going to have to wait on line with us and then step aside and hang out at the child swap area by herself until we exit. My HOPE is that she'll realize that she just waited on a line and she might as well get ON the ride at that point. ;)

Awww, she is like my DD's opposite! DD will ride anything she can't see, but if she sees the track it makes her nervous.

I will say that the coaster part on Mummy is really short - most of it is a themed ride with a short coaster at the end.

You could go onto youtube and check out the rides both to see if the drops are too scary or, if they're borderline, so people know when they are coming and can prepare for them.

My Mum finds Big Thunder Mountain too much and we "accidentally" convinced her to go on the Mummy....she was not amused!!!

If you do manage to convince her to do it, ask to go in the front row as the ride feels calmer than at the back and she'd have a better chance of seeing what's coming up in the roller coaster section

lol. My first Disney trip, age 8, my mom promised me a whopping $1 if I went on Space Mountain and could honestly say I didn't like it. Well I did like it, but I "accepted" my $1 afterwards anyway. lol

I don't know if sitting in the front is possible. We still tease her about a horrible picture of all of us in Dinosaur with her face hidden practically between her legs.
