....or even not too scarey!
We're off to Orlando next week again with my DH and DD (6)
DD is pretty worried about the dark so, any tips on the 'inside' rides that she might enjoy once we get used to the dark.
We've been lucky enough to be able to visit WDW twice in the last couple of years and have just avoided the dark rides.
This time, if we could get over the first 5 feet into the ride, I'm sure we would be okay. I know Eve wants to try Stitch but how scary is it? However, I'm not prepared to be the kind of parent who stands in the queue to a ride trying to convince their child (ok, argueing) it will all be ok :p
I intend to call at Publix or somewhere similar on the way to the hotel (Sheraton Safari) Any ideas? :flower1:

Here's something that worked for my granddaughter on our last two trips. The first time she was 3 1/2, the second she was 4 1/2. I brought along a small key-chain type flashlight and gave it to her each time we went into a "dark" ride. She thought of this as a magic light that she could press whenever she felt nervous. The first dark ride -- Snow White -- she used it a lot. In the Haunted Mansion she only used it once. During the Fantasmic show at MGM she used it a couple of times. But after the first few days and going on numerous rides, she would only used it at the very start of a new ride. She did like holding onto it though. I guess it worked like Dumbo and the feather.

Stitch was not Scary at all, and it wasn't even what I was expecting. I don't want to give it away!! My daghter, the same age, thought it was funny and loved it. It was cute and definitely for kids. You're daughter will probably enoy it.
As far as some of the other rides, I would say the Pooh ride is safe, and the Space ranger spin. Mickey's Philharmagic is a must see. We still haven't done Peter Pan's flight and I've seen mixed reviews on Snow White's scary Adventure, my Dd did all right , but you might want to avoid that one. The boat ride in Mexico at Epcot was calm. I'm trying to think of all of the dark rides..the other ones I'm thinking of were all fast and a little scary! Hope this helps a little! :D

:D 'Dumbo and his feather', I like that one :flower1:
We did the Pooh ride the first year we went (DD was 3) and she said 'never again' We also tried Peter Pan which didn't fare much better
It's a Small World was a ride with closed eyes throughout and then I gave in
Now, I'm not sure about Snow White, and definitely not Haunted Mansion  I did the boat ride in Mexico and am sure she'd love it if we could actually get in the boat! I'm sure some kind of light bracelet/key ring would work.
Basically I've decided I pay for a ticket for DD to visit the characters and let mum ride on the rides whilst she waits with DH who is unable to ride many things due to a brain tumour!
I'm going to work on Stitch but am not certain she'll be tall enough anyway - she's a small 6 year old at 110cm and, if they've raised the height limit, we've no chance :Pinkbounc
