Dare I ask? Have you started?

Well we put our tree up this past weekend because we are booked every weekend from now until December 13th and by then it is too late!

DD's 6th birthday party is this coming weekend and once that is over I can concentrate on xmas shopping. I like to see what she gets for her birthday before I start shopping so I can cross those items off my list and add others!

I am done for DH and my parents and in-laws though. Just have to do DD and I will be done with that in one trip I suppose. Hopefully completed everything (bought and wrapped) by Thanksgiving.

I've not only started...I'm almost finished. Presents are wrapped and under the Christmas tree.

Peg, can you share any ideas for your daughter? I am making a list for mine but always like to hear what others have done.

:lmao: :lmao:

I just started. What I've purchased so far has been done online. Can't beat Amazon.com's prices, free shipping and no taxes. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I would have to say that without internet shopping I would not be done. eBay, Amazon.com, Toys R Us, etc. It's hard with two young ones to get out and shop for any length of time by ourselves. So that would be the major component to me being finished now. That and I had tons of leftover wrapping paper from last year.:upsidedow

I started this summer when Tuesday Morning had a huge Lego sale-I got several very LARGE Batman sets for $20-$30 each..All my kids want is Legos..

I bought the last of the gifts my daughter had on her list yesterday, and I have a couple of things for my husband. I have one gift for my son, and gifts for my MIL, FIL, and my Dad as well as one niece.

I still have buy the rest of the things for my son (the drums and microphone for Guitar Hero World Tour) and something for my Mom, a few more things for my husband, and some small gifts for 2 more nieces and 2 nephews. The nephews are easy because they both love Thomas the Tank Engine. Then the stocking stuffers which frankly I am a little bit stumped on this year. My son is a huge hockey fan so usually there are hockey cards and Ottawa Senators logo things in his stocking, but he's got most of their little items now. My daughter likes funky socks and lipgloss. They are both quite taken with Phineas and Ferb, so I will pick up a few of the character items when we are in WDW next month.

I guess I will have to say I am about 75% done.

Almost done. Have a couple of gifts to order on-line, and still have to wrap a couple of other gifts, and then done. We've done most of our shopping on-line this year. In past years, we've always done our shopping at the stores. I much prefer on-line. I don't enjoy dealing with the crowds at the stores/mall during the holidays.

You have a Christmas tree up??!!

I bought some toe socks for the girls at walmart last week but other than that, nope haven't even thought about it....

Actually, I have two trees up and decorated. Since I also decorate trees for other people, I have a lot of decorating before me. I wanted to get my house done, so I can concentrate on the others.

I have started and have finished for everyone in my office, so that is a huge start!! But I have a ton left to do. I love shopping for Christmas though!! :santa:

We are practically finished. We shop throughout the year and try to find good deals on items we think people will like. This way, the bills don't all hit in one or two months and we can get much nicer gifts for loved ones. We will be traveling at Thanksgiving, then bring my mom to our home for a visit, then take her home and have our family Christmas gift exchanges mid-December. I have to get everything wrapped and ready before Thanksgiving!

I have quite a bit done. My older girls both want "professional" clothes for student teaching and observing so I did pretty well at Kohls the last two sales with a 30% off coupon. I also picked up a few Cricut cartridges for oldest DD when Michaels had them on sale a few weeks ago.

DH's birthday is this weekend and oldest DD's in the middle of Dec so I still have more to get.

I'm pretty much done with all of my daycare kids because I try to pick up items on sale after Christmas. Borders had a good sale last year so I stocked up.

I also picked up all of the teacher gifts for my youngest DD last year. She is in a special ed self-contained classroom so when you add all of the aides, therapists, teachers, bus drivers, bus aids... plus her private therapists it comes to 17 people! :scared1: I could never afford to buy for all of them if I didn't stock up when Target is 75-90% off the year before.

We do a grab bag with the adults on DH's side of the family and we won't pick names until Thanksgiving.

I do try and finish as early as possible but I find myself spending more than I wanted to because I can't pass up some of the Black Friday sales. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm going to start wrapping this afternoon but the tree won't be up for a few more weeks.

Nope not even close.

I want to get DS12 and DS8 a Wii..So I am hoping for a good deal on Black Friday. I want to get them Mario carts & golf & baseball.

Last year was so easy. I took them to Disneyland for Christmas and that was the whole present, beside a few misc gifts and spending money..
I should have opted for that this year.

The stuff I'm buying is on order and on the way. Since I'm a photographer, I'm also doing some photo books for my mom, my sister and my niece (I did photos last year and they nearly had heart attacks at the amount of photos they have to scrapbook now). I'm going to do one of my photos on stretched canvas for my dad. Also, I need to put together a dvd of photos for the year for christmas gifts (to show at christmas then everyone gets a copy).

And because I'm trying to be more environmentally friendly this year (plus I get lectured at the zoo that I volunteer at if I'm not), I'm doing christmas cards which are almost done but putting in a link to scrapblog.com scrapblog for the year instead of doing a newsletter.

Also, the grounds keeper who is an arborist has convinced me that wrapping paper is bad (who knew) and I'm making gift bags for the presents I'm giving (they're super easy and I have tons of fabric since I'm a quilter). I am saving wrapping paper for the dog's new toys though since he loves tearing it off.

So I'd say 60% done but will be done by end of November.

Don't hate me but....I'm almost done
I start keeping my eye out for Christmas gifts on December 26. This year with a trip to Ireland, a trip to WDW, and a trip to the Poconos I gathered together lots of souveniers and gifts for my family already.
I always end up leaving the really hard people (distant uncle, twenty-something single guy cousin) to the last minute...that's what I end up freaking out over! I usually try to get them taken care of on Black Friday.

Pretty much done!! And I spent a small fortune:eek:

All that is left is some stocking stuffers and a few gift cards.

I save the month of December for all my baking I do  That is my passion.
