Dapper Days hotel question

We're doing Dapper Days this year, and I have a question about booking the Grand. We're looking at Nov 8-12, but when I look at the reservation fine print it says they might cancel your reservation if you aren't registered for the event. BUT...I can't find anywhere to register for Dapper Days on their website. Does the registration happen later?

Also, does anyone know if you can book connecting rooms with the Dapper Day rates? When I searched I could only choose 1 room, so I wonder if I'm missing something.

Hoping it won't be too busy since Dapper Days happen over the same weekend the Holiday decor goes up. I've always wanted to do Dapper Days, and my kids have never seen the Christmas overlay, so it's a perfect time to go :)
I know I'll want to buy six more dresses at the Expo lol

Thanks!

From memory that wording is just standard wording for these types of rates - connected to events that often do have registration. For Dapper Day no registration so the cancelation doesn't happen.

There isn’t any official registration for Dapper Days. And no one at DLR has ever asked or made any mention. We participate and have our expo tickets, so we don’t worry about it.

About connecting rooms, you’ll probably have to call.

We have been able to get connecting rooms when we went with my parents over Dapper Days in 2019. We booked separate rooms (it only lets you book one at a time), and I called the convention line to "link" both our reservation numbers and request connecting rooms. When we arrived, we checked in (no mobile check in then), and they seemed like they had no idea we had requested connecting rooms. Not sure what was up with that, but it may be worth calling a few days before the ressie to reiterate the request.

Even still, GCH staff is amazing, so they did what they could. After a lot of typing and a trip to the back, they were able to make it happen! The nice thing was we were both pixie dusted with an upgrade. Our rooms were clearly not the standard ones offered with a convention rate, but looked over Goofys Sky School. The walk was a bit long (especially at the end of the night), but I LOVED watching the side of WoC from our balcony. I also got to embarrass my DH by constantly waving at people on Goofys Sky School...which was also fun 😂

Thanks! I was worried I'd book the rooms and be turned away for some reason.

For the connecting rooms, do I call GCH, or the agency that handles event hotel rooms?

The PP is correct, it's through the convention/event line. At the very bottom of the Dapper Day reservation page (to select dates), there is a number and email 😊

One more question...has anyone ever upgraded to club level with Dapper Day rates? I'm sure they charge $400 extra or something, but I'm wondering if it's even possible.

It's possible, I have seen someone post about it before. I think it's close to $250-300/night assuming there's availability.

Ditto this! Did Dapper Days in April and the notes didn’t make it through to the hotel. They were able to rebook us to the same tower (DLH), but different floors. I would call the actual hotel the week before your trip.

Have fun!

Were you ever able to add club level, and if so, do you recall the add on fee? We are going for Dapper Days in November and I'm toying with the idea. Thanks!
I didn't end up adding it on that trip but I'd call and ask them about it. The CMs are so helpful :) Have a great time!

Do you have your outfit ready?

Thanks, I'll give them a ring to at least see if its possible and what the add on fee is. I'll report back here just for future info.

And I think I'm ready! I have two options I'm considering, and knowing me there's a possibility I may buy another dress before then 😆

Im going to piggy back on your thread. We will be there on November 3rd which I believe is Dapper Day. Does the expo cost to get into or can you just drop in while your already there?

Do we need to validate a registration if we buy the discounted tickets?

The newsletter link to the tickets say that you'll need proof of registration-
Is that something you get at the dapper day boutique?
