Hello!

I am planning a trip for myself and my guy for spring 2018. I am curious just how crowded Dapper Day is? We are trying to go in spring as it is close to my birthday (the reason for the trip) but are avoiding March and early April due to spring breaks and crowds. Would it be better to wait a week for our trip? Our trip days will likely be a Wed-Sat so we can see fireworks and other evening entertainment. One of the days will also be spent in LA at the WB studio tour and other sights.

Thanks!

You might want to check the grad night calendar also. I think the actual DD will have a upswing in visitors, but the other days around it should be fairly normal. I think the best reason to go over DD is if you would like to stay on-site and get a great rate. Otherwise, you might want to skip it.

Yes I’ve always wanted to stay at dlh. I don’t think I can ever be less cheap except maybe at a time like this. But it’s crowded! One year bat days combined on that day for extra crowds.

Make sure Pixar Pier is open. I think 4/19 I think that will free up the park a bit.

Have you considered going during Mini Gay Days (actual day is March 3)? Last year, they had Disney rooms for half off and it was pretty low key as far as attendance.

Just checked and the rates this year are $334 for DLH and $424 for GCH (standard). They also offer discounted park tickets but those aren't out yet. You have to register on their site and I think it's nice to support them in some way if you're not part of the group, like wear a red shirt that day. The Disney hotels seem to have crazy prices that time of year so you might want to wait. Our Dapper Day room is a lot less; I think we paid $250 at DLH.

I went last year during the Spring Dapper Day and the crowds weren't that bad, but there is no way to know whether that will happen again this year or not. I'm guessing there will be uptick in crowds this year because that'll be the second weekend of the new Pixar themed entertainment (Paint the Night, Fireworks), so some folks that didn't want to brave opening weekend crowds might go the second weekend. All that being said, I thought Dapper Days was a lot of fun. It was neat to see all of the guests dressed up in their dapper clothing.

Any idea when the Dapper Day rate rooms fill at the DLH? We want to book there, but with the non-refundable 1 night deposit we want to wait as long as we can to be sure of the trip.

Thanks
Mike
