It was not easy getting him to go to bed last night, to say the least, but after about 20 minutes he finally did and slept until 6:30, about an hour earlier than normal, but he was still in his bed when he called for Greg. And he is as happy and loveable as normal this morning...doesn't look like he's mad at me or anything.
We ended up setting the bed up the other day while the crib was in the room. He slept in his crib and we figured we'd start the bed this weekend. I tried to put him down for a nap in his bed yesterday but he just wanted his crib, so after the nap we decided to take the crib down and move the bed to where the crib would be. No choice for him or us. He loves to lay in his new bed, etc, and he helped Greg move his crib out of the room and move his new bed in position. He seemed thrilled, etc. Until it came time for bed. Ugh. But hopefully each night will be better getting him down, and hopefully he'll nap well today in it, and each day will get easier.
Phew!
Thanks again for everyone's advice on my previous thread. I think what it came down to is the fact that we really will need that crib for one of the new babies, already buying a second one and can't imagine buying a third, especially since Daniel will be 2 next month and we'll need to transition him soon anyway. I think by taking the crib down it made us not give in as much as him.
Still hard to do, though.
