DANG! It's COLD!

I guess I am a total wimp, but how do you actually make yourself get out of bed, let alone out of the house when it is that cold. I really just don't understand. We are about 29 here and I thank God that I don't have to get in the shower first thing ad go to work. The house is pretty cold, I can't stand having the heat on and will only use it when I absolutely have to. It dries my skin and nose and mouth out way too much, not to mention the hot flashes are worse with it on.

1 feels like -18. I am not looking forward to leaving the house this morning. It would be this cold, of course, on the first day of classes when I actually have to leave my house.
And i can hear the wind whipping outside!!

We had that the past couple days-windchills in the -40 range. It is supposed to be close to 30 today though so it didn't last long (Fri, Sat, Sun).

Its -24 C/-11 F here right now. And that's warmer than it has been. Yesterday the windchills were unbearable. Its supposed to get warmer today...just in time for more snow to come. *sigh* I really, really hate winter.

You just have to I will start my car and let it run for probably 1/2 hour before we leave- I do have to walk to the end of the driveway and get the trashcans.... not looking forward to THAT. We heat our home with a pellet stove, it's very warm in the "stove" room and in the rest of the house we put on a second layer.

Weatherbug says 3F right now. I'm not sure if that's with wind chill or not (I assume not). It was 0F when we were dropping off the kids today.

My poor car didnt' want to start- I apologized to her for even ASKING her to- she came through for me. She's actually still running in the driveway, just to keep her limber.

cold here today too!!! -4 this morning. brrrr!!! I'm glad that I don't have to go anywhere. I'm making DH take my car in to get my tire looked at (had a flat yesterday, the spare is on now. super long story that i'm still annoyed about had to deal with that yesterday but the weather was a balmy 12 degrees so I won't complain ) But he's going out, not me. I'll be bundled up here with DD playing!

I am from the east coast (lived there my whole life), DH & I relocated to SoCal in '08 (with his job). Well, this morning I open my FB page and everyone is posting pics of their thermometer's and it is NASTY TEMPS. All in the negatives.

My DS (who is in law school back east) and I spoke last night and I told him that the Nightly News said to "PLEASE bundle up as the temps are going to be horrific".

0 degrees when I dropped DS off at school. The line to get to the drop off zone was lllloooooonngggg!

A very special THANK YOU to those wonderfully dedicated school crossing guards! I didn't want to be out there for 5 minutes clearing my windows. I can't imagine standing at a busy intersection for half an hour! Bless your hearts.
