We are ON PROPERTY!!!
Here is a link to the Trip Report. I am going to try and update DAILY with Food Porn, crowd conditions and my (albeit valuable only to me:thumbsup2) opinion of rides that are in both parks...

Enjoy.. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2240254

After months of planning, posting and grilling the Disneyland boards we are in the single digits.

Only 4 more days till we drop the kids at Grandmas and fly...:cool1::thumbsup2:rotfl::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3:

Here is the itinerary for your enjoyment and critique or our no kids 10yr anniversary trip.
We are staying at the Carousel Inn & Suites in a concierge club room. Not sure if this is a big deal or not.:confused3 It was part of the package.

Sun. 7/26, Fly into LAX around 10:30 local time. We have a limo picking us up (courtesy of the folks who got us the tues. dinner ressie, see below:rolleyes1,) from LAX. We plan on heading to Phillipe's for lunch and b-lining it straight to DL. 8:30 reservation at Jazz Kitchen

Mon. 7/27, Day at the parks followed by a relaxing dinner at Blue Bayou

Tues. 7/28, Another day at the parks dinner that night at the famous Club 33.:wizard: Myself and the Mrs. plan on losing ourselves in the evening here. I think we are looking forward to this more than almost anything at the parks.

Wed. 7/28, This is our "non" Disney day:scared: The DW wants to do a quick trip to the star walk and Graumans along with the Disney soda fountain. After that we are really not sure what we are going to do.:confused3 If all else fails we might just head back to Disney. Not into shopping and some of the sightseeing stuff we are saving for when we bring the kids on a future trip. Planning on lunch at Caioti Pizza and dinner wherever we end up...hopefully a good sushi joint. Any suggestions for a good local joint? Real sushi, not some Bennyhannas(sp?).

Thurs. 7/29, Another day at the parks followed by a nice romantic dinner at Napa Rose...can you tell this is a romantic foodie couples trip?:love:

Fri. 7/30, Last day..:guilty::guilty: This day we plan on filling in whatever we haven't done yet. No dinner plans that night but I'm sure we will find something.

Sat. 7/31, Flying our REALLY early..like 5am early.:scared1: That is gonna stink. Crying the whole plane ride home.:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

That's it in a nutshell. Comments and any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

DH and I are doing almost the same thing in 28 days! This will be our first trip without the kids. We will be celebrating our anniversary also and enjoying Blue Bayou and Napa Rose as well. I wish you a wonderful just the two of you trip! :goodvibes

DH and I just got back from our 2nd trip alone in about 2 years. WE LOVE going to DLR just the 2 of us. We can be totally selective about the rides we like and don't have to ride anything we don't want to - just for the kiddos.

We tried Cafe Orleans this trip and liked it. We also tried the Cove Bar at Ariel's Grotto and had a great time there. Their lobster nachos are really good.

We did a little exploring on our non-disney day (Sat.) and considered sushi, but opted for the Boiling Crab in Garden Grove. It is a cajun restaurant with crab, shrimp, crawdads and assorted other stuff. We had the shrimp and fried oysters and the cajun fries and sweet potato fries. Good food, friendly people and apparently very consistent in their quality. I found the reviews for the place on Yelp.com and tried it based on the reviews. And the fact that we don't get very fresh seafood where we are and anytime we are going to be anywhere coastal, we get fresh seafood.

Napa Rose and Club 33 are hard to beat for a foodie!

While you're up in Hollywood you might consider driving up to Griffith Observatory - only about 20 min from the Soda Fountain- and great views of LA and the Hollywood sign - plus recognizable from lots of films. The walkway around the building at night with the view is pretty romantic.

You might want to go to the El Capitan too - beautifully restored and the live organist before the show ( get there at least 30 min early ) is great.

Have fun!

Thanks Brady's Mom, that place looks good. Was it spicy? The DW is not a spicy food eater.

lcasa, I did see the observatory and we might end up there simply for the photography opportunities.

I 100% agree on the restaurants this trip. I have called and "verified" my Club 33 reservations no less than 5 times in 8 weeks.

We have chefs table reserved (as best we can) at Napa Rose but not sure if we'll sit there or not. I will eat anything, the DW is REALLY picky. I am afraid when the chef comes to ask what we like he's going to turn in his notice due to what she won't eat.:confused3

Wow! It sounds like you will have an amazing time! :)

Ours was mildly spicy, but you can order it without the spices. And you can combine flavors. Ours was garlic and butter, lemon and something else, and cajun. At the restaurant they call it the whole sha-bang when you combine all the flavors.

Please follow up and let us know how you liked Carousel Inn. We're booked there for late Sept, and I'd really like a current firsthand report of what it's like. Thanks, and have fun!

That is one thing that I will def. do. I have seen several threads asking about it but never any new pics. I will be sure to take plenty of pics.

Oh, and there will be food porn like nobody's business. Menu's, drinks, appetizers, main courses, snacks, you name it I'm gonna shoot it.

Updated with a link to the Trip report in my original post....Enjoy!!!
