Dance (practice or not)

Did any brides take dancing lessons for the wedding. If so, Did you use it or did you forget about it in the moment.

We took dance lessons. We did "attempt" it. But I never practiced with Leif in my dress. It was EXTREMELY hard to move backwards with my dress bustled. So I would tell you just to realize what the construction of your dress will be when you dance.

We didn't. We figured that we would just wing it. But a week before our wedding we had friends over who decided that we should do a 1st dance so they taught us a VERY SIMPLE swing dance. It only had a few steps and was easy for me to manuever in my dress. Better yet it looked nice and you couldn't see how much of a clutz I am as the dress covered my movements. lol.

Jonette has a good point to know how the movements will be effected by your dress so try dancing with your crinoline on for practice to see if it's doable or not. Include the shoes too.

We are planning on taking dance classes for our first dance. Good points...I def. take into consideration that my dress has limits hehe!

We didn’t take lessons ...but after surviving 6 yrs of Ballroom and Cotillion as a pre-teen I couldn't bring myself to do it again....DH and I did practice in the living room...and he picked it up very well...i was very proud of him the day of...he remembered everything we practiced…

Hi.
For our upcoming wedding in December, DF and I have been taking dance lessons. We've been going once a week for about 8 weeks now. We're having a lot of fun with it.

My advice: Check to see if there is a local Fred Astaire Dance Studio near you. They have wedding packages starting at just 25 dollars!
