Damaged Pin Question

I ordered some pins from a reputable seller on ebay (not a scrapper in the bunch from what I can tell). However, one pin I ordered, a jeweled Minnie Mouse, had one red jewel missing in the bottom left of her bow. The seller quickly made it right and sent me a replacement and told me to keep the damaged one.

I had bought most of these pins for the kids to trade when we go to DLR next year. What can I do with a damaged pin? TIA!

Keep it or throw it away. It wouldn't be ethical to trade or sell if you aren't disclosing upfront that it's damaged.

Kind of what I was thinking. And the kids are only trading with CMs but doesn't feel right to offer that up in trade even with the flaw clearly visible to the CM. Maybe I'll give it to DD early and the flawed one can be her play one in the dress-up box! Thanks.

If it's a missing jewel you may be able to fix it. I had a pirate pin that had a red jewel in the eye, the jewel fell out somewhere and was lost. I found a red jewel that fit the hole and glued it in place, of course we didn't trade it (it's on my pirate lanyard now) but I was able to fix it at little cost. I don't suggest trading it, but you might be able to fix it for DD's dress up box. :)
