Dalamation cake

I have ordered a dalmation cake to be delivered to our room at the beach club in a couple weeks. It will be chocolate with chocolate frosting....dd LOVES dalmations, so I requested that one be put on it. Now, I am a little worried that it won't show up with the chocolate frosting. Has anyone ever seen a dalamation cake?

I don't understand your worry. If you ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting why wouldn't it have chocolate frosting?
To ease your mind, call back to where you ordered it and reconfirm your order. Ask them the chocolate frosting questions.

I think what she is trying to ask is whether the actual pic of the DALMATION will show up because it will be on top of chocolate frosting. I can see that might be a concern. I haven't seen a Dalmation cake though so I am not sure.

Maybe call back to who you ordered it from and ask them if they have made them this way before and how they turned out? Good luck!

I don't know what a "Dalmation" cake looks like. If it's just a pic of a dalmation on top, then the pic is probably just screened on top, and they will use a contrasting color, say, white on chocolate frosting.

That being said, in reply to the posts upthread, the bakeries, can, and do make mistakes on orders. Last summer I had ordered a white cake with white frosting with a raspberry layer in between, and it came without the raspberry layer. It was no big deal, of course, the cake was still very yummy.
