I heard on BOG podcast that Disney is now talking about daily bag charge of apx. $10 per bag. So totally over this add charge stuff. People need To be able to bring rain ponchos sunscreen if they have small children diapers and baby necessities and if they have medical needs their medical supplies into the parks we shouldn't be fined for bringing in a bag. If this rumor is true then Disney has gone out of control!

They had better not! I'm so heartbroken right now - I cashed in all our Air Miles a month ago and started planning our dream once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disney World... Then I made an account on here and have been regretting getting those tickets ever since :(

Subscribing to this thread as this affects me and my wife. We have a backpack on the back of her ECV and I carry a camera bag.

At this rate, they will charge us for the air we breath, the trash we throw away instead of taking with us out of the park, and a dollar for using the bathroom.

was this info posted on april 1st?
sounds like it was.
i highly doubt disney would consider doing this as crazy as they are lately.

It was on the Be Our Guest Podcast my husband was listening to today and they were going on and on. If it was an April fools joke it was not good timing what we think we're going to charge for a resort fee it we're going to church for parking at charge for this charge for all the other.

^As they would say in the south: Say what?

Podcast was March 31st ....
Regarding the original post about the podcast, you left off:
- The extra charge for special seating in shows, sold in length of stay style.
- $4.99 charge for real silverware at the quick service restaurants.
- $5 for New Fantasyland exclusive bathrooms.
- $15.99 for closer tables at the buffets.
- $20 each for length of stay Preferred Pass for Disney Transportation, sit in special area of bus but also preferred boarding ahead of others.

AND not only did they say it at the end, their Podcast description was ...
"We hope that you enjoy today's podcast (and Happy April Fool's Day!)"

WHY post stuff like this at a time when this would upset folks when it clearly was a joke ............

i went and found the podcast after reading the OP's post and saw for myself it was obviously an april fools episode.

i also looked at the OP's other posts and OP was fooled last year by reading that Cinderella's castle was changing to elsa's castle. it would appear they are quite gullible.

Don't even worry about it.

Disney is expensive. Period. That's 100% true.

With that said, people on these boards come here because they LOVE Disney. The biggest whiners are also some of the biggest fans. Millions of guests go to Disney and love the experience. You just go on this big trip and enjoy yourself. This level of insane hyper analysis on these boards isn't really relevant to whether you enjoy yourself. You may end up disliking it, but don't get preemptive buyers remorse. If you walk into the gates already with a bad taste in you mouth, you're almost sure to be disappointed. Be open minded and willing to criticize (and there's lots to criticize) but also be willing to see the good (and there's lots of good).

Just enjoy yourself and don't overthink it!

Plus with River of Lights, Star Wars entertainment, DAK enhancements, Frozen, and a new Soarin' you have a lot of cool stuff to look forward to.

Also #aprilfoolsistheworst It just causes unnecessary confusion.

This thread shows how little confidence people have in current Disney leadership. There is a firm belief by the consumer core that Disney management is out of touch with their base. While the bag charge joke concept was outrageous, so is the perception of many other recent decisions. It screams..."I put nothing past Disney at this point."

You're going once, and for your first time. You have no prior experience to weight your vacation by. Disney has been going to hell in a hand basket ever since Walt died. It'll likely still making its merry way there in a decade's time and still managing to be the World's first and second most visited theme park. No matter when you go, you can rest assured, you'd have experienced something hugely better if you'd only have gone two years prior.

Learn about FastPasses. Learn about what will *actually* be open when you're there. Learn how to plan and optimize your time. Pick a resort that works for you. Then stop reading these forums. Nothing good will come of it! You'll have a great time, it's Disney.

When you get back, you can start reading these forums, and join in the chorus about how the parks will never again be as great as you remember them.

I agree completely. But there is obviously a segment of the population that is so gullible that they really need a sensible fact checker at their side every waking moment. :rolleyes2 Honestly, if I do one more eye roll today, I'm afraid of permanent damage.

The sad thing... I didn't believe it, but I did ask myself... would they ever go that far?

Should never have even been a question.
