Hi. We have a trip planned for Sept 3 to 12 and were planning on going to Magic Kingdom on Thursday. There is an after hours party would it be worth going to that and going to a different park in the morning? Also wondering about the one at Animal Kingdom as well.

I went to MK DAH last year and thought it was such a great value that we're doing it again this year. Everything but 7DMT was a walk on. Last year we had shown up to MK at rope drop and stayed all the way through til the end of DAH. This year we're planning to either do HS in the morning and then go rest at the resort before going back out for DAH or just sleeping in/having a pool day beforehand.

We went to the MK AH in January during Marathon week and it was wonderful.

We are there the same days as you in September (well, almost). September 4-14 and booked Thursday, September 5 AH at MK again. If September 4 is your first park day, then maybe I would go to another park first or if you will be out on September 3, you could sleep in and hang by the pool that morning (that is what we are planning on doing), although my family, including my mom that I go with, has never been RD-closing people. We always go back for a break and now my "kids" are 21 and 25.

If I didn't have APs and it wasn't an extra cost, I would most certainly also be booking the AK AH event too. If you can swing it, I would certainly do them. If you also have to purchase park tickets, you could save some money and not purchase tickets for both your AK and MK AH events.

Happy planning!

We just did the MK AH (May 30th) and AK AH (June 4th). We didn't do another park on either of those days, and the day after each we made sure we didn't have any morning plans. We thought MK was totally worth it and we would do that one again in an instant. We were able to get SO much done, including in the two hours before the party actually started since we were able to get three FP). Plus, it was cooler since we were dealing with summer heat. It wasn't nearly as empty as I think it used to be when it first started, but it certainly wasn't bad at all. We didn't attempt 7DMT though since that wait was always 40min when I checked and I didn't want to waste that much time.

While we enjoyed the AK AH, and are glad we did it since this was our first time in Pandora, I don't think we'd do that one again. We really enjoy AK and everything it has to offer, and so much of what we enjoy was closed (animal trials, shows, etc.). We typically spend two days at AK on a normal trip, so AK AH wasn't really a necessity for us. Now, if you only like AK for the "rides", then it's probably more worth it to knock those out.
