Dad's Diaper Shower... Your Thoughts?

I've never heard of it before, but it sounds cute.

And honestly, it's probably just an excuse for the guys to get together and drink with out the girlfriends/wives/so getting upset (who would say no to a baby event)

My DH was invited to a "Diaper Shower" of one of his coworkers. I had never heard of them before, but apparently my DH had.

Apparently, it is a "Dad's Shower", and a pack of diapers "buys" the guys invited a cup for the keg, and a plate for the food. They are gathering at the future dad's house and will be playing poker.

I think it sounds fun, but maybe a little tacky? My DH is now keen on the idea and wants one himself (I'm sure more for the fun than the diapers...)

Have you heard of these? What is your take?

My husband and his friends do this several times a year especially during football season without gifts..

Diapers are an added bonus for the new parents. ; )

When I read the title, I thought my dh would never go for that. But reading the details, it sounds fun...not too "ladies' baby showerish."

Actually I had a friend who had one thrown for her but it was a couples shower. The guys brought diapers and partied with BBQ and beer on the back patio and the ladies did a typical shower with fancy food for the mom inside. When the cake was brought out everyone came together and visited for a while. It was a lot of fun and the guys didn't have to be involved in all the girlie/baby games stuff and the ladies didn't have to hear the guys talk sports and belch all night.

When I read the title, I thought it was going to be about someone's older dad and him needing to wear a diaper in the shower. I had to open it to see what it was possibly about.
