Dad Kills Daughter's Attacker With His Bare Hands

What I like is that he did not even mean to kill the man, he was actually trying to hold him until the police arrived.

Is anybody else disturbed by the fact that he only served half his sentence for criminal detainment and sexually deviant behavior? I'm assuming this means that he kidnapped somebody or held them against their will and then did something very immoral to them. Why on earth did the courts let him serve only half his sentence? Because he obviously learned his lesson... :sad2:

OMG Imagine waking up to that. :faint:

That father literally held onto the guy for dear life. Good for him. :thumbsup2

And yet there's this...

DELTONA, Fla. - An angry Deltona father whacked his teenage daughter's boyfriend with a metal pipe after finding the boy naked in his daughter's room.

Authorities say Raul Colon, 45, didn't even know his daughter had a boyfriend or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year.

When he heard noises coming from his daughter's bedroom Thursday morning and saw a stranger standing naked on the girl's bed, he swung a metal pipe. He then chased the teen out the front door and called police.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors closed a head wound with staples.

Colon was charged with aggravated battery on a child and bonded out on $10,000.

So what does this story have to do with the original post?

You don't see the connection? Your story shows a man accidentally killing a naked intruder. My story is similar but the fathers are treated completely different by the law.

So what's your point? Do you think the fathers should have been treated the same?

My post was in regards to a 52 year old convicted sex offender who broke into a home and attempted to assault the owner's daughter. What the hell does your story have to do with this? :headache:

Why are you so riled up?

How is this similar?

You have a sex offender (naked) breaking into a home of unknown people with a rope, knife, etc.

On the other hand you have a teenage boyfriend found naked in his girlfriends home?

I think it is really stretching it to compare these two.:confused3

As a Mother of a Daughter I would hate to walk into my DD's bedroom and find her boyfriend naked...but that is NOTHING compared to walking into my DD's bedroom and finding a sex offender with rope, condoms, knife, etc.

I don't understand how any parent of a DD could think this is comparable at all.

If I'd been the girl, my dad would have "Gee, I really didn't mean to kill him," too. No doubt about that at all.

DH would probably have an "Opsie, sorry, I sure wasn't trying to kill him," moment, as well.

The worst thing that would happen to that guy if I were on his jury would be a hung jury.

I can see the connection because the Dad said he didn't know the daughter had a boyfriend. So both dads thought they saw the same thing - unknown naked men by their daughters' beds.

I totally agree with JennaTX! :thumbsup2

The OP's story was about a father who catches a 52-year old male sexual predator in his daughter's bedroom with the intent to sexually assault and harm the daughter, not about a father who catches a daughter with a teenage boyfriend in her bedroom with the daughter's consent to be there.

While I understand a father's need to protect a daughter's virginity, there is a BIG difference between hearing screams of terror and noises of pleasure coming from a bedroom.

You don't know what they heard or saw. It's your interpretation. If there was a naked man in my daughter's bedroom, I think my instinct would be to protect, not ask questions.
I think the Dad with the intruder was a very brave man and am SO glad his daughter was saved more trauma. But I can understand the Dad with the naked boyfriend reacting similarly. I don't know if his daughter was able to get through to him it wasn't an intruder, so I can understand the comparison.

Yes. The father in my story should not have been charged.
What if father in the boyfriend story had killed the boyfriend. Lets say the pipe to the head had broken his neck. Should the treatment have been the same then?

I think this is legitimate question. And I know the original post was made for informational purposes, but this response by Charade makes it a far more interesting thread. Despite the differences between a boyfriend and a sex offender, each father had the same thing going through his mind when confronted by a naked stranger in his daughter's bedroom.

I see Charade's point.

Both dads found a naked man. Both dads attacked.

The fact that one was a sex offender didn't matter. They dad didn't find that out until later. He just attacked.

The fact that the other was a boyfriend didn't matter. The dad didn't find that out until later. He just attacked.

Dads who find strange naked men in the house will generally attack. If you plan to be naked in some guy's house, don't get all bent out of shape when he attacks you. :teacher:

I am so glad that the dad found this guy before he could harm his daughter. My dh would no doubt have killed him too. I can say that without any doubt whatsoever. It would not have been an accident, that is for sure. I would have supported him 100% for it as well. You mess with our child(ren) then you'd better be prepared for the consequences, kwim? I think this Dad is a hero.

As far as the other case, well, I can't believe a teenage girl is brave enough to have sex with her boyfriend with her dad right down the hall. I wouldn't have been so bold but that's just me.

Ohhhhh......wowzers! I have been away all weekend with my daughter at girl scout camp so I did not hear about this until now. This is local news for us...I can bet we mothers will be chatting this up at the next meet.
That dad was such a hero. Kick a** and take names later! I feel so bad for this family. Its going to be hard for them to live/sleep in their home after this!!

That's interesting. I'm a father with daughters - but I don't see this as brave at all. Not even a little bit.
