Been a member from the start. Yes and no to your question. The issues are wonderful and alot of thought and effort is put into them. If you love Disney lore then sign up. D23 also has meets and perks from time to time.
The no side is you only get 4 isssues a year so its a temperary Disney fix and if you walked into a store and saw a issue for 25 bucks you probably would not buy it. The issues really are the meat and potatoes of the membership.
I have no intentions of giving up my D23 but it is really hard to say it is worth it. If it helps I believe it is worth the extra money to go from value to mod but not as much mod to deluxe.

I agree with the above post. I have also been there since the beginning.

The issues are really neat and they do send you some goodies for being a member, and I will admit it's a lot of fun to get them and opening the little folder each time it does come in. Some of them I would love to frame in our house in fact.

Having said that, it is only 4 issues a year and to you can honestly live without, BUT there are very few things available to Canadians that is Disney related that you can sign up for.

Would I re-register for it? I have to admit I'm on the fence.

I agree with the others and am as Charter Member as well. I just want to add every two weeks we get a Disney 23 Newsletter by email.

I will no doubt continue being a member but if Disney discontinued it I would not be extremely disappointed. I liked the old Disney Magazine much more.

Newsletter? How do you register for it? I didn't realize there was more I could register for!:goodvibes

The email is the best part. Park updates, news, Ask Dave questions, armchair archivist and more. When I signed up my email was asked for this purpose, I checked the yes box. I am sure you just need to email d23.

I joined after the fact and picked up my package from the Disneyland Hotel as I was down there anyways. I like the neat things you get and the magazines etc. Dh and I are going down next month for a D23 event and to see CarsLand for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. The events are a lot of fun and give you another good reason to head to a Disney Park. Would I sign up again? Absolutely!... for the events alone I really enjoy my membership.:goodvibes

My wife got me a Gold D23 membership as a Christmas gift last year. The certificate is sitting in a box somewhere. The watch is cheap. But the magazines - wow!!! They alone are worth every cent of the membership.

Not that I endorse it, but she found a way to save a bunch on the membership. The membership is $30/year more expensive for Canadians than the US due to higher shipping fees. So she registered with an American address of some friends who live in the US and then after the first package arrived, updated the mailing address to our Canadian address. There was no extra fees for the shipping.

as a charter member i agree with this very strongly

It is now time to renew the membership, and it makes me so frustrated because they are making me pay $40.00 shipping and handling because I live on the other side of the boarder in Canada! gah! they are lucky they have my hooked, or I would not be paying that much for this.

Never paid this much for a membership of any kind(as far as magazines are concerned!). Buggers!
