Hmmmm..... I just don't know about this. It sounds like another TiW scheme, to me. Just like TiW, you get to attend special events.....for a special price. Usually a too high price. You basically get the same discounts you get with an AP. It looks to me like an over-priced magazine subscription. Maybe I'm missing something.

Our son got us a charter membership last Xmas and I think your assessment is close to what we think and won't be renewing it this year. It does have some special events and offers for merchandise, but we just can't see the benefits vs. something like the $80/year cost for the gold membership and honestly I don't even know if we have the gold or silver membership.

I think it's a better deal if you live near Disneyland in California, and can do the special events out there.

Way more events and discounts for Disneyland than WDW. And for those of us that don't live super close to WDW, it's pretty much impossible to get to the few events they are having.

I got the membership for Christmas last year and I love the magazine - it's truly awesome - but I can buy that at Barnes & Noble.

Highly unlikely I'll renew this year.
