D23 - Why Should I Join?

Also I live in the middle of the country and only get to go to the parks a week at a time. Do you get your magazine before it hits the newstands? What are the perks?

Last November I received a membership for a birthday gift. I've enjoyed the magazine and the little tchotchzkes they include, but I am not able to make it to the special events they have which--by my perception--seem to be more oriented to the West coast.

've been a Disney fan for my whole life, but I'm finding that I have enough Disney paper products. YMMV.

What are the benefits of paying for a D23 membership? Are there discounts or is it just a club to buy WD merchandise before it goes out to the public or ebay? If most of the events are on the west coast what is the incentive for east coast members?
