D23 ~ What is it?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong area, hopefully it would be put in the right area if so.

But, what is D23? I don't quite get it.

Is it just a club or what? I do know it requires membership payments. Not sure if that helps with any sort of Disney Discount though.

a fan club of sorts. Membership gets you information on the Disney empire, access to special shows and discounts, etc. There is an expo every year with information about future changes for Disney. There will be Disney celebrities also. There are special tours of the Disney Studios available.

A few perks and some insider information. I don't belong because it is just not practical, but you can find first hand reports of the D23 Expo presentations on the web.
