D23 Studios Tour Sellout?

I was wondering if anybody knew/had experience buying the tix for the Walt Disney Studios Tour and how fast they sellout. Is it like the runDisney races used to be and I should be ready to go 10 minutes beforehand or as long as I do it in the 1st hour I should be okay?

I can't speak to recently, but one of the reasons I didn't renew was events were selling out in a matter of minutes. They kept raising the prices to combat it, and it didn't. Since they started offering the free membership that doesn't have access to events and got rid of the $34 membership I don't know if they has helped. But D23 events have a fraction of the capacity of runDisney. If it's definitely something you want to do, I'd be ready 10 minutes before and don't assume you have an hour. Maybe the price point and number of tours that have been offered at this point brings down demand now. Hopefully someone else has recent experience.

The tours do sell out, but I don't know how quickly. The good thing is that they are offered more than once a year, so if you miss out, there will be another chance in a few months.

I went to the January studios tour. I bought my tickets right when they went on sale. It was sold out by 4 pm the same day when I checked.

Thanks guys! Went on right at 10 and got the time I wanted. I checked back at 10:07 when I was all done w/ everything and they were all waitlisted!

Yeah, I purchased right at 10am, and I checked at 10:10 on another computer, and it is sold out.

Crazy.
