I was totally prepared to attend the Expo, had reservations and hotels and was about to book a flight when the ticket debacle happened. Needless to say, I didn't aquire tickets and I cancelled all reservations. I thought I'd just livestream what I could and stalk the heck out of influencers to find out other info.

But now I find out there's only going to be one stream, not even a livestream... and I have to sign up for Fortnite to watch it??

Does anyone know if there will be streaming available at all? Other than Fortnite?

I thought there was no way this could be the case, but after a quick browse over Google I am finding that yeah, you're right, they really are only streaming part of the Expo to Fortnite - and only AFTER the show is over at that?

I can only guess they wanted to make the event more exclusive to people attending? Though I think that kinda sucks when they've streamed the big announcements in the past. Like dang, not even a livestream option behind a paywall? I don't know, that's strange to me.

Well, it is common for exclusive footage, etc. to be provided to attendees. Otherwise, what's the point of attending? This isn't really a "media event" though it will definitely get covered by media. Personally, I am fine with just reading the news as it comes out.

Yeah I'm aware, I attend a lot of events like this for other interests of mine, such as Anime Expo, though many big Expos with announcement heavy events have livestreams now. I'm just surprised since Disney made the livestream practically its own event with segments and interviews and such at the last D23. They can do whatever, it just surprised me based on precedent.

This is an embarrassing question but I don't know what Fortnite is. I think it's a video game. I can navigate computers, streaming, social media. But I don't have a gaming system or gaming subscriptions. Does anyone have simple advice for how to watch this without purchasing a big gaming subscription or buying a gaming device? (Sorry if this is a dumb question!)

Fortnite is a video game and it is available on practically everything. You don't need a powerful computer to run it (I think even most phones do). It is free to play, but there is an in-game economy. I don't know what you would have to do to watch the stream once in game though.

Likely the Fortnite Segment is just about things that are coming to the next season of Fortnite or beyond as part of the experiences section. Since Disney now owns about 8% of Epic Games they’re likely to be sharing some things they’re bringing to the game during the panel.

I’m sure someone will livestream from inside Fortnite on twitch.

The problem with the Fortnite stream, aside from a lot of Disney adults not having accounts, is that it's apparently going to be posted two hours AFTER the actual presentation. So it's not even live. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well, lots of adults play Fortnite and it is free to sign up for. I mean, I don't and don't want to, and I am not tempted to for a stream that isn't live, but still.

Haven't checked to verify, but I'm hearing the Disney Legends presentation will stream live on D+ tomorrow.

Anything streaming live on D+ or YouTube today?

Based on my experiences working in corporate, my just-for-funsies theory is that the person or team who was responsible for the technical side of livestreaming the vent are no longer with the company, and execs simply didn't realize until it was too late.

Something similar happened to me when I worked for corporate (Fortune 100). A temp built an internal tool for gathering employee information for years of service recognition, then left the company the next year. Because it was a tool that was only used once per year, and the temp left without handing over any documentation, no one in the company could log into the admin side. Whole thing needed to be scrapped and rebuilt--but no one realized it was an issue until AFTER 500 emails had been sent out directing employees to enter their info into the web app.

The Paywall would have been DISNEY+ but worldwide but we Subscribers seemingly not worthy for anything from them lately even when we have to pay more in the US sooner the rest of the world maybe as well after it but still we aren´t worthy to get anything. THE US AND CANADA Subscribers at least getting the LEGENDS Stream on MONDAY in re-run on DISNEY+ but really that isn´t the thing that most people want to see but for some better than nothing but still why not worldwide strange. Maybe someone can film and put it later on YT like before fingers crossed The possible posting it or we have to try to catch it on that nonsense game fortnite that has it on demand til Aug 16th. Strange hope they will not do that every since forward only because of that nonsense investing of 1.5 billion into that Epic Games craziness.

CMs are getting a livestream

After watching all of the D23 videos on youtube from the past couple of days I can't help but think all of those people paid a lot of money to basically watch a lot of movie previews just like at the theater . . . . .

FYI YouTuber called SoCal Haunts & Parks is streaming. Quality isn't amazing but better than nothing
