It looks like I will finally get the chance to visit the D23 expo next year and I'm doing it solo (sigh)!
I have no idea what to expect, what there is to do, and if one day will be enough.
Of all the days to visit is there one day in particular I should attend? Also, what are my chances of seeing a presentation where they announce all the up and coming movies, attractions , etc. ? Is that something you have to wait hours in line for? I have no clue what I'm getting myself into. Help! :flower:

If you want to ensure that you'll be able to get in the presentations in the big arena, my advice is to get in line as early as possible in the morning. We got there at 5 a.m. last year, and the line was already long because they were allowing people to spend the night at the convention center. (I have no idea if this will be done next year.) Remember to pack water and snacks, and since you'll be there by yourself, be sure to make friends with the people you're in line with. That way, you can reclaim your place in line after bathroom breaks.

If you're planning on seeing even one arena presentations, I'd recommend staying at least two days. The presentations ended after 12, and there were huge lines for everything else by then. Just manage your expectations, and you'll be fine. We weren't able to see everything, and we were there all three days.

It is hard to do much in one day especially if you want to do presentations. There are 2 big presentations each day and then several smaller ones through out the day. There is not 1 single one that announces everything but rather they are broken up into sections (Live action, Animation, Parks and Resorts, Legends, etc). They clear the room after each one so getting into the morning panel does not guarentee you the afternoon panel.

No one knows yet if over night queueing will be allowed. If that is the case people were in line all night for morning panels so if it is a big panel know you might have to do that to see it (last year was live action). There are lines for everything. lines to shop, lines to see exhibits, lines to order food. Worse then the park lines.

It is fun but you have to go in with a low expectation. If you have ever been to a big comic con before (San Diego, NYCC) then it is like that. If you have only been to a small convention it will probably be much busier then what you have experienced.

I went solo last time and had a blast. I think I actually prefer going solo, since i was able to do whatever *I* wanted.

You'll spend a lot of time waiting in line, so get chatty with your neighbors. Most people are really nice and are willing to hold your spot in line if you have to step out for a moment. I brought candies to share to sweeten the deal.

Yep, I went with my best friend last time but we definitely split up when we wanted to do different things. And people are super nice. I'm always willing to hold someone's place in line. Check out the other threads for some more information, too.
